Sharing his secret, Stroud said: “I think it definitely goes back to playing at Ohio State. I wanted to play at the biggest stage against the best competition. I mean everybody who’s played at Ohio State knows that every day in practice you’re playing against the first-rounder or somebody who’s really good on the other side. So the competition that was bred at practice definitely helped.”

The 22-year-old QB then credited his preseason game. Stroud said, “I learned my lessons in the preseason. I think that was really big for me to have a little trouble at first and then grow every week.” However, preseason struggles are becoming fruitful, and the rookie QB is on the verge of surpassing Patrick Mahomes.
