It’s not often that the head coach of one team praises the opposing team, but in this case, Pittsburgh Steelers‘ head coach, Mike Tomlin, has no choice but to pay attention to the opponent’s star player, Zay Flowers. Flowers is having a phenomenal start to his career, putting up exceptional numbers on the field. This may pose a challenge for the Steelers in their upcoming game.

The Ravens‘ offense is currently facing challenges due to the uncertain status of Odell Beckham Jr. However, the team has been proactive in reinforcing the offense by adding Zay Flowers to the team. This has caused concern for Mike Tomlin. Apparently, the coach’s son went to the same college as Zay Flowers, and he has seen every trick up Flowers’ sleeve.

Mike Tomlin is a Flowers fan

Mike Tomlin is easily one of the most diligent coaches in the NFL with two Super Bowl rings on his finger. He has been closely watching Zay Flowers since his college days and has reached the conclusion that the Ravens’ new WR is ‘fearless’. It turns out that Tomlin is a Flowers fan and thinks that he is a ‘dynamic player’. Dynamic, because the WRs body has superior mobility and can move fast on the field.

‘He runs into dark places at full speed’ said Hamlin in awe of Zay Flowers.

His superior body control, his burst speed, and the ability to change directions at any moment give him the confidence to not budge in the face of fear. The coach mentioned how Flowers is ‘combative and competitive in all circumstances’. But the good thing about all of this is that the coach is already familiar with Flowers and will do something to counter his ‘fearlessness’.

As of now, the Steelers are bestowed upon an opportunity that might even the books with the Ravens, and possibly take their place in the AFC North standings.

The battle for the rankings

As it stands, the Ravens stand at the top in the AFC North rankings with 3 wins and a single loss to their name, whereas the Steelers are at a point where it will make all the difference if they win this game. They currently have 2 wins and 2 losses so far and are placed just below the Ravens. Another thing to watch out for here is the QBs of these teams. After a long time, Kenny Pickett will be going against Lamar Jackson.

The game comes with a twist here as Kenny Pickett’s status is still questionable and he might not make it to the game. The Steelers say that Pickett ‘could’ play in the next game. Still a mystery at best.
