The current season has not been without its share of heartbreaks for the Denver Broncos. Only one of their five games, a 31-28 victory over the Bears two weeks ago, looked close despite their best efforts throughout. They played the New York Jets at home in their last match. The Broncos had a superior first half and took the lead, but they lost their way and the game in the latter half.

The Broncos began the season with two competitive games in which they took the lead in the first half. Although they lost both games, they displayed early promise for the rest of the season. They performed worse than ever in their third game against the Dolphins (70 -20). In their most recent home game against the Jets, they were once again able to take the lead in the first half but ultimately lost. Why?

This is not a new thing. The Broncos have lost three of their six games this season despite getting the lead in the first half. The other teams have managed to find the chink in their armor with the progression of the game and always get the better of them in the end. Is this a recurring phenomenon? Let?s delve into this a bit further.

A social media user and NFL fan at heart rightly pointed out the fact relating to the Broncos losing their way. In a recent post on X, Dov Kleiman delivers the exact number of games lost by the Broncos when they have managed to take a lead at halftime. Let?s see what he has to say.

At 10 games, this is an outright disappointment. We can only imagine what QB Russell Wilson and head coach Sean Payton would be going through. Don Kleiman also took notice of the fact that this has become a record ? the longest losing streak while having the lead at half-time. He teased the fans by asking, ?When will the streak end?”

It’s a ‘do or die’ for the Broncos!

Will Russell Wilson and Co. break this losing streak? In their next match, they are facing the high-flying Kansas City Chiefs. The form the Chiefs are in, they will make little work of the Broncos and the stats do not favor the Broncos in any way this time. The Broncos have lost all their last 15 games against the Chiefs.

This is huge as the pressure created by these facts alone can prove heavy to bear for the Broncos. The Chiefs surely would not mind registering another win. Patrick Mahomes‘ side has won their last four games and has beaten the much-evolved sides like the Jets 23-20 and the Vikings 27-20 during last week. What can the Broncos bring to the table in the game set for 8:15 P.M. at Arrowhead? We will find out soon.
