“Pray for the Families”: Shocked Kansas City Chiefs’ Deplore Israel – Palestine Clash, As Football Fans Become Messengers of Peace

On October 7, the world echoed with the sounds of 5,000 rockets fired at Israel by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas. As heart-wrenching and graphic images from ground zero emerged, the world joined together in praying for Israel and its children. Football teams hold a special influence over the hearts and minds of people, and any gesture of sympathy by them resonates with millions of football fans.

Celebrities and political leaders from all over the world expressed their solidarity with the Israeli people and even Palestinians caught in the crossfire.

Standing with Israel and Palestine in their time of crisis

The Kansas City Chiefs team took to Twitter to send out their thoughts and prayers. In the post, they denounced the senseless acts of terrorism and mourned the loss of innocent lives in Israel. Earlier, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had taken to Twitter to share his condolences, “I condemn and denounce terrorism, and in this devastating moment, my heart goes out to all the innocent victims and families grieving for their lost loved ones. I pray for compassion and resolve. I pray for all innocent lives (sic).”.

Other A-listers who expressed their sympathies for the victims of the Israel-Palestine clash include Justin Beiber and Gal Gadot. Gadot was the winner of Miss Israel in 2004 and had also served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Football, with all its team rivalries and social media banters, is at its heart a force for good and unity. The message shared by the Chiefs drew responses from football fans who came forward as messengers of peace.
