4x NFL MVP down for the rest of the season after just 4 plays of the Jets’ season opener. The Jets have not played against the Chiefs since 2020, the season in which the Chiefs won the Super Bowl. In that match, the Chiefs beat the Jets 35-9. Will both fans be robbed of a Patrick Mahomes versus Aaron Rodgers showdown? Or will he make a miraculous recovery and be back to fight for the Super Bowl MVP title?
Speaking with Pat McAfee in the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Aaron Rodgers discussed his recovery progress and some of the whacky treatments he has heard of that could fast-track his recovery.

A-Rods on taking illegal substances
“Some days are good, some days are bad. Making a lot of progress. Little more movement. Little more strength.” Aaron Rodgers sent out his weekly update on McAfee’s show, who lately signed a mega $85 million deal with ESPN. Rodgers does not like giving out deadlines or attaching a date to when he will finally be back on the gridiron field. But the main question on fans’ minds still remained unanswered: Will he play against Mahomes this season?
The answer unfortunately is, no. The Jets are set to face the Chiefs on October 2 and there is no way that he will recover in time. What’s more, it’s now more likely than ever that he will miss the entire season. On being asked if he was alright taking growth hormones to fast-track his recovery, the answer was a no, as it was illegal for NFL players.
Does that mean the Jets will record another defeat? While A-Rods still has complete trust in his successor, fans are not buying it. But as he himself said, “Anything can happen in the NFL.”
Will the Jets manage to take off?
Aaron Rodgers sure seems to think so. But if the team’s past record is anything to go by, it looks difficult. Especially against a challenger as formidable as the Chiefs. The 1-2 Jets will take on the 2-1 Chiefs at the MetLife Stadium. The very stadium whose alleged artificial turf led to the Jets QB’s torn Achilles.

There have been serious concerns about Zach Wilson‘s ability to lead his team. Costly fumbles, missed passes, and turnovers plague A-Rods’ successor’s performance. However, his team has not given up on him yet and neither has Aaron Rodgers. He did manage to win against the Buffalo Bills in their season opener even after Rodgers was out after the fourth play. But yeah, the Chiefs are not the Bills.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, are super confident as a result of their back-to-back wins. First, against the Jacksonville Jaguars then against the Chicago Bears. While their defense carried the day for them in their first two matches, the offense is also picking up. Besides, Travis Kelce has one more reason to win: Taylor Swift. He wouldn’t want to put up a bad show for her, now that it is almost confirmed that she will be in MetLife Stadium.
