Russell Wilson is earning praise. The QB has been proving his mettle in the new season despite the Broncos stumbling out of the gate, marking his career-best comeback. Wilson has consistently restored his glory, ultimately sealing it with the victory over Bears 31-28 in Week 4. While the Broncos are riding the hope of this victory, it’s not just his on-field ventures that get him all the praise.

The QB, known for his charitable efforts, recently visited Centura Health’s St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. He also brought a special friend with him as part of a worthy cause.

Last Tuesday, Russell Wilson and his fellow mate Matt Henningsen, a defensive end for the Broncos, made their way to St. Anthony Hospital to visit patients battling cancer. The QB and defensive end spoke with the patients, bringing comfort and positivity to the room and sharing their support. Wilson took to Instagram to share the moments as he wrote, “Incredibly grateful to visit the amazing folks at @centurahealth with @mdhenningsen at St. Anthony Hospital today. Thank you for inspiring us and keep on fighting!”

The Broncos were at the hospital as part of the team’s “Fight Like a Bronco” campaign, launched in honor of Denver Broncos Assistant Turf Manager Luke Kellerman, who died of colorectal cancer in October 2017. This campaign serves to raise awareness about the disease and the need for early detection and extends support to those who are battling cancer. Since 2016, the Broncos have raised more than $339,300 for the cause. Each year, the franchise players and other staff visit patients at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado as part of the initiative.

With this gesture, Russell Wilson has not only won the respect of fans but also touched many hearts.

Another chimed in, “Keep doing these visits it means so much!”.
