The Kansas City Chiefs are riding high after winning their last four games, including a thrilling 27-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes has been sensational, throwing for 10 touchdowns and only four interceptions in that span. But the Chiefs may face their next challenge without one of their most reliable weapons.
TE Travis Kelce leads all tight ends in receptions (27) and touchdowns (three) this season. He suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter against the Vikings. Though the injury was not considered serious initially, his status for Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos is uncertain. But that is not the only bad news for the Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes will have to do it all!

Per the injury report released by the team, apart from Kelce, two other players are in doubt about making the squad. The 23-year-old LB Nicholas Bolton and 22-year-old DE George Karlaftis were listed as limited participants in today’s practice session. The youngsters have played bit-part roles in the season, but it will be a massive blow if 34-year-old Kelce fails to get on the field.

The 2X Super Bowl winner is not only a dynamic receiver who can stretch the defense and create mismatches but also a valuable blocker who helps the running game and passes protection. Kelce has been Mahomes’ favorite target since they became teammates in 2018, and they have developed a strong chemistry and trust.
The Chiefs are hopeful that Kelce can play, but they will likely monitor his progress throughout the week and make a game-time decision. His presence on the field will be missed in such an important game.

Since 2015, the Chiefs have won nine straight games against the Broncos, dominating them. With the current form of the Broncos, they’d want to forget their past meetings. They are coming off a disappointing 31-21 loss to the New York Jets at home. The Broncos are at the bottom of the table, while the Chiefs are soaring at the pole position.
It will be a test of resilience and determination for both teams as they face a short week and a divisional rival. The Chiefs will look to extend their winning streak and maintain their lead in the AFC West. Conversely, the Broncos will try to snap their losing skid and pull off a huge upset.
