In the 41-0 domination of the Chicago Bears, Patrick Mahomes had to be pulled out in the second half. He was seen limping, which set Chiefs fans into panic mode. But after the last practice session on Friday, before the team rides out to MetLife Stadium, two injuries have added to the Chiefs’ woes. However, there is also one silver lining for fans as well.

After two back-to-back wins, the Chiefs’ spirits are at an all-season high. On Sunday they are up against a Rodgers-less New York Jets who have lost two back-to-back matches. Will the Chiefs be able to take advantage of this or will their casualties hold them back?

The Kansas City Chiefs will be two key defensive players short on Sunday. Starting LB Nick Bolton still has not fully recovered from the ankle injury that he received in the game against the Jaguars. He has been ruled out of the Sunday game and will be missing his second consecutive match. Second-year DB Jaylen Watson has also been ruled out due to a shoulder injury. However, the 2x SB MVP will be playing on Sunday.

Drue Tranquill could replace Bolton. As for Watson, rookie Nic Jones might be activated to replace him. In the post-practice interaction, head coach Andy Reid spoke highly of the two replacements and assured fans by telling them that he trusts the two. “Drue’s a very cerebral guy — smart, athletic, knows how to make all the checks and calls,” and for Jones, he had this to say, “[He’s] humble and hungry, man. So you’re going to be expected to know what to do, and we have confidence in him knowing what to do.

Even though TE Noah Gray missed two practices due to illness, and DT Chris Jones and WR Kadarius Toney were limited — all three are expected to be in the starting lineup against the Jets. Will the Jets manage to beat a weakened Chiefs?

Will the Chiefs maintain their winning streak?

The New York Jets are not very well placed either with two of their players ruled out for the game as well. Safety Tony Adams is nursing a hamstring injury whereas OL Wes Schweitzer is suffering from a concussion. The New York Jets have a reverse record of 1-2, as compared to the 2-1 Chiefs.

Wilson surely has a chip on his shoulder as he endeavors to prove doubters wrong. And that he is worthy of being called Rodgers’ successor.
