The Kansas City Chiefs are heading toward their Week 7 matchup. This week the team has made some roster changes, and at the same time was anticipating positive signs for Travis Kelce, after his ankle injury. Furthermore, to help their wide receiver room, they reportedly are bringing back their two key players, who contributed to their last Super Bowl win.
So far this season, Patrick Mahomes’ team holds the top record of 5-1. With this point, they are reigning in their AFC West division too. However, as Mahomes still thinks that he needs to buckle up for future games, he expects the same from his team. Hence, to widen his offensive end, the 2x MVP is bringing their two strong weapons back, against the Los Angeles Chargers. Meanwhile, before moving ahead, Andy Reid’s team definitely got a reason to celebrate, if one goes by the recent IR report.

The Chiefs are set to face off against the Chargers on Sunday, October 22 at 3:25 p.m. C.T. at Arrowhead Stadium, KC. Ahead of the matchup, the Chiefs released their injury report that depicts some good news for the Chiefdom. Travis Kelce, who sustained an ankle injury against the Minnesota Vikings, will be playing in Week 7 too. Earlier when he suffered an injury, everyone speculated whether his injury needed some time off to fully recover or will he be playing his future matchups. However, the eight-time Pro Bowl champ did come back in the Denver Broncos game. This time again he will be there to face off against the Chargers, as according to the IR report, Kelce took full participation in this week’s practice.
Apart from him, players like Bryan Cook (neck), Nick Bolton (ankle), George Karlaftis (hamstring), L’Jarius Sneed (knee), Kadarius Toney (toe), Tommy Townsend (left knee), and Charles Omenihu (NIR) shown their full participation throughout the week. Hence, they all will be joining Patrick Mahomes at Arrowhead. However, Justin Watson, who went to receive a deep pass from the QB, during the fourth quarter in the Broncos game, is out for Week 7, after his elbow injury & DNP status. On the other hand, CB Jaylen Watson (thigh) did not participate in Wednesday & Thursday’s practice and showed limited participation on Friday. Hence, he is listed as questionable by Andy Reid.

Earlier this year, Frank Clark and Mecole Hardman were released as free agents, for the Denver Broncos and the New York Jets, respectively. However, this week the Chiefs decided to bring back Mecole Hardman, recently released by the Jets, after not delivering an impact on the team as expected. However, for Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City, Hardman is an important asset, who played for four seasons with them. The wide receiver filled in the void of Tyreek Hill for the Chiefs and contributed to them in TDs last year. Currently, the Red Sea is facing challenges from their offensive side, as unproved players such as Rashee Rice, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and Justyn Ross, weren’t able to add to the Chiefs points.
After Hardman’s entry, Mahomes would probably get a boost and the receiver on whom he can rely. On the other hand, Andy Reid is giving hints on the possibility of re-signing Clark too, who was recently released by the Broncos. The head coach said, “We love Frank. Right now, we’re just talking through some things there. There are a few things you have to look at when you do that. That’s kind of where we’re at. We haven’t done anything to this point.” Clark was an important part of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl runs with 11 sacks in the playoffs in the last four years, and also created a strong pass-rushing partnership with Chris Jones.

However, the Chiefs haven’t signed Clark yet, but there is a high chance they will soon. Resigning these two players to their roster, the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, not only solve their offensive problems but might also boost their chances of winning the Super Bowl LVIII.
