In a heartbreaking crash that sent shock waves across the football world, Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles. Just four plays into the match against the Buffalo Bills, Aaron Rodgers was sacked by DE Leonard Floyd. He had to exit the field and later news broke that there were high chances that he would miss the entire season due to his Achilles injury. But now in a video that has sent not just Jets fans but also football fans into ecstasy, it seems that his recovery might happen sooner than expected.
Without the 4x NFL MVP, the Jets seem to be floundering. With just 2 wins after Week 5, A-Rod is not proud. But will this recent news reignite the Jets’ Super Bowl dreams?

During the latest episode of The Pat McAfee Show, A. J. Hawk shared a video of Aaron Rodgers performing a miracle. The Jets QB had told his team that he would not enter the Jets locker room till he was able to walk properly again. And what do we see? A smiling Aaron Rodgers walking into the locker room without the support of crutches. Pat McAfee said, “Symbolism to him walking into that place. He didn’t want to go back until he could walk.” Finally, some good news for the Jets?
With Zach Wilson as their QB, the Jets have played through a lot of miscues, interceptions, and incomplete passes. However, Zach is showing some change. In the game against the Chiefs, he became the only opposing QB in 2x SB Champion Patrick Mahomes’ career to score more passing yards, and fewer interceptions than him.
But are the Jets fans’ celebration of an A-Rod return too premature? How long does an Achilles usually take to heal, and how soon can we expect to see him on the field?

The doctor who performed the Achilles heel surgery on Rodgers had also treated Kobe Bryant’s torn Achilles in 2013. It had taken Bryant 8 months before he was able to play at the hardwood court again. NBA All-Star Kevin Durant took 18 months to recover after he tore his Achilles in June 2012. However, Minnesota Vikings RB Cam Akers set the record when he returned to the gridiron field in just 5 months. So, can we expect to see A-Rod on the field in February, just before the playoffs?
Pat McAfee declared that we might see him for the playoffs, considering the Jets make it there without their star QB. But he might return sooner if Nathaniel Hackett, the Jets’ head coach, uses his shotgun. This will surely reduce the movement he has to make on the field, making his role more cerebral than physical.

Besides, A-Rod’s mere presence has had a magical effect on the team. He was present during their win over the Bills and also during the Chiefs game in which his successor, Zach Wilson, made a comeback. Can Zach manage to at least give his mentor a place in the playoffs as a “Thank you” gift?
