Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was taken to the hospital following a probable injury. Garoppolo walked to the sidelines after a second-quarter field goal against the New England Patriots. He wouldn’t return for the third, and that indicated a possible injury scare.
Raiders HC Josh McDaniels confirmed in the post-game presser that Garoppolo was indeed forced out with an injury. He was unaware of how serious the injury was, but it is bad news nonetheless. Garoppolo had already missed one game this season with a concussion.

Although the Raiders managed to come out on top against the struggling Patriots, they lost their most valuable asset, Jimmy Garoppolo. Late in the second quarter, Garoppolo initiated a drive that resulted in a field goal. But almost immediately, he himself left for the medical room and didn’t return. The Raiders announced that the QB had a back injury and was doubtful to return in the second half, before eventually ruling him out.
Talking to the press conference after the game, head coach Josh McDaniels insisted he was unaware of the details of the QB’s injury. “I do not, I know he left and everybody knows that he left. They’re just doing tests you know, and just making sure that they take care of all that stuff so I do not have an update on Jimmy”, McDaniels informed the press.

Garoppolo had 14/22 for 162 yards with a 12-yard touchdown throw and one interception in the first quarter. Brian Hoyer replaced him in the second half and managed to hold on to the lead. Garoppolo ‘s injury could be terrible news for the Raiders at this point of the season. The primary QB had already missed the game against the Chargers due to a concussion protocol that resulted in a loss for the Raiders. They will just hope this time, it’s nothing serious for Garoppolo.
