Running back for the Miami Dolphins, De’Von Achane was selected with the 84th pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL draft. During NFL week 6 rookie Achane suffered a knee injury while playing against the New York Giants on Sunday. Miami Coach Mike McDaniel has not confirmed if the injury required surgery nor did he detail about the injury. However, McDaniel said that “he is a tough kid” and is expecting him to return his season.
De’Von revealed how Tyreek Hill has been his biggest motivation in the NFL as it is completely unique from college football.

Achane joined the Miami Dolphins this year after playing College football as a running back. He recently got his knee injured while winning over the New York Giants 31-16. Miami’s Coach McDaniel neither confirmed whether Achane has to go through the surgery nor elaborated on the injury he had. However, it was reported that Miami’s rookie running back will be replaced and miss at least the next four matches.
Post-injury, De’Von confessed in the chat show @cheetah_podcast, that playing college football was effortless for him, it was easy to grasp the playbook and fast to learn. However, OTA’s (Organized Team Activities) and training camp were tough at practice for Achane.
“When I first got there, I ain’t going to lie, but OTA’s and training camp y’all was feeling miserable at practice”. He was initially unsure about the playbook and nervous also everyone used to yell and get on him.

Achane further continued that he got to learn things fast here at the NFL knowing that Coach McDaniel expects things at full speed. However, Miami’s wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been a great pillar of support and motivation for De’Von.

“Tyreek [Hill], he will tell you he witnesses it like, it was just motivation for me to just like to keep studying, to keep grinding so now as the season progresses,” Achane explained.
De’Von’s gameplay impact on NFL

The? Dolphin’s rookie running back had a great impact on the NFL with his game after excelling in college football.
He landed with 1102 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns at 5.4 yards per carry with 36 catches with 3 more touchdowns. He posted the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.32 seconds) among running backs this year.
De’Von has been exceptionally well with his gameplay and has highly impacted Miami with his strategies on the court. He leads the NFL with an average of 12.1 yards per carry and he is second in rushing yards with 460.

During Sunday’s match, he delivered 76 yards rushing touchdowns that helped the Miami Dolphins win over the Giants.
