After the final practice session on Friday, the Chiefs released their injury report. Key players in the defense are listed as nursing various injuries. LB Nick Bolton who briefly left the Chiefs’ Week 2 victory over the Jaguars has been ruled out. WR Richie James has also been ruled out of the upcoming match due to his knee injury that caused him to miss practice the entire week.
Categorized under ‘Questionable’ are LB Willie Gay Jr. who took a hit late in the game against Jacksonville, RB Isiah Pacheco who is suffering a hamstring ailment and WR Kadarius Toney who is nursing a toe injury. While Willie is listed as DNP in one practice session, the other two have missed two sessions.
With these injuries, the Chiefs defense looks particularly vulnerable to attacks. This is important because in the last two games while the offense fumbled, the defense carried the day for the Chiefs.
2x SB Champion and Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes had spoken about reducing pressure on the defense. Now it seems that he has no choice.

In the match against the Detroit Lions, Kelce’s absence cost the Chiefs dearly and they ended up losing 20-21. But when Kelce returned for the match against the Jaguars, so did the points, resulting in a 17-9 victory. The Chiefs’ best would prevent as many turnovers as possible and keep the ball in possession so that their offense can gather as many points as possible.
Over at the Bears camp, Safety Eddie Jackson will miss Sunday’s game in Kansas City after sitting out practice the entire week. DL Khalid Kareem has also been ruled out due to a hip injury. OL Nate Davis has been listed as ‘Questionable’ due to personal reasons. The five-year NFL player had also missed the losing match against the Buccaneers.
The scales look slightly tipped in favor of the Chiefs. A subdued 0-2 Bears will face a 1-1 Chiefs this Sunday at the Arrowhead Stadium. With the scales tipping slightly in the Chiefs favor, will the Bears be able to pull off a miracle win? Share your thoughts in the comments!
