Yesterday’s game against the Broncos proved the team is here to register wins and become the Super Bowl Champions once again. At the helm of all this, we have got the reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes doing wonders for the Chiefs as usual.

The win against the Broncos 19-8 went on to prove how lethal Patrick Mahomes really is. He outperformed the veteran Quarterback Russell Wilson and the sheer numbers do speak for themselves. Patrick Mahomes got the better of Wilson, 306 passing yards against 95. Yes, you read that right! Still, both were able to secure a touchdown each for their teams. Patrick Mahomes has already secured eleven touchdowns this season and has led his team to five straight victories. Still, he was looking frustrated in yesterday’s game as Russell Wilson and Kirk Cousins are leading the charts in terms of touchdowns. Dov Kleiman, shared the clip on X, where Patrick Mahomes was evidently taking the anger out on his helmet!

After the match was over, a reporter intercepted Patrick Mahomes off-field in the post-match conference. The reporter asked, “It’s no secret how competitive you are and you talk about how it’s having a sense of urgency but you have to guard against getting frustrated because you are not scoring touchdowns like you are accustomed to this point”. Patrick agreed to the reporter while opening up his psyche during the game.

Mahomes said, “Yeah, a little bit, I’m just used to going out there and being able to (score touchdowns). I have that mentality. I want to score every drive and that’s how I have always been and always will be, but at the same time you got to win a football game”. While realizing the importance of a win he further added “So I can’t let maybe a drive or two that we didn’t get in the end zone affect the full scope of the entire game that’s something I have learned in my career so instead of trying to press or do something crazy or scramble around and do something, I am just going to keep pushing and taking one play at a time to move the ball down the field”.

It seems the NFL star still needs to work on his game plan. He is visibly aware that getting comfortable with wins can be a drawback.

Acknowledging the importance of his team’s defense prowess, he went on to say, “I know if our defense is playing well, then I can continue to put just points on the board. We are going to win a football game and at the end of the day, that’s all matters”.

Well, we don’t know about the Chiefs’ defense. But the Broncos’ defense and attack both have taken a deep dive down the rabbit hole. The game saw the Chiefs scoring in each quarter, while the Broncos definitely looked out of touch. It was evident with the fact that they were unable to score in the first three quarters as the scoreline read 0-0-0. The comeback in the last quarter was not enough and Wilson should know better.
