The deals, partnerships, and endorsement contracts form an important part of the sports world, and the NFL is not shy about the same. Many star athletes in the NFL dynamics have now and then been associated with big brands worth billions and QB Patrick Mahomes is definitely one of them!

Interestingly, the Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback has recently stepped up to help his university publicize one of its million-dollar promotions. However, even more astonishing is the way in which Mahomes has gone about this announcement. The biggest highlight of the same is the resemblance of his antics with his 24-year-old self!

Texas Tech Red Raiders of Texas Tech University faced the Virginia Cavaliers of the University of Virginia in the 2019 NCAA Basketball Championship game. As an alumnus of the Texan University Patrick Mahomes showed up at the game in a Raiders jersey. But there was something odd with it.

The team had a partnership with sportswear brand Under Armour back then, who made their jerseys. However, the quarterback was an Adidas-sponsored athlete at the time, having joined the brand in 2017. His contract with the billion-dollar brand probably didn’t allow Mahomes to wear a jersey manufactured by any other brand, and that’s likely why he infamously taped the Under Armour logo on the jersey with a handwritten Adidas logo.

The act caught everyone’s attention. Coincidently, after the current deal of the college team with Adidas, the quarterback won’t have to hide his college team’s logo anymore. The Texas Tech Red Raiders have ended their 17-year-old contract with Under Armour. Mahomes was quite classy in announcing the news as he wore an Adidas-made Raiders jersey to Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday. A real one this time.

Sports investor Joe Pompliano also shared the million-dollar deal, with the added backstory on X (formerly, Twitter). Pompliano added, “That’s awesome” along with a fire emoji as Mahomes sported a classical look. Overall, it must have been a memorable start to the day for the quarterback, but he has a bigger challenge in front of him as he faces the Chargers.

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the division rivals LA Chargers on Sunday, Oct 22. Despite the 2-3 record, the Chargers are a formidable opponent. Each of their three losses was closer than it looked, with a maximum of three points difference in every single one of them. They will not make things easier for the defending champions and will not go down without a fight as statistics suggest. Justin Herbert too, will try to prove why he is among the best quarterbacks in the league this season.

Chiefs, however, can remain confident knowing they have the best offense in the league. They also boast the league’s best quarterback, who is keeping things in check at his usual pace. On top of that, the defending champions will have the support of the home crowd at Arrowhead.

Combined with these, the Chargers need Herbert to be his absolute best to provide any kind of hope. On the other side, Mahomes will hope to leave the field with a smile, just like he entered it this morning. Who do you think will eventually come out victorious from this clash?
