It’s tough to beat the reigning and defending champions the Kansas City Chiefs, especially for Russell Wilson and Co. That’s 16 straight losses, the longest active losing streak by one team against another in the NFL. The latest defeat came on Thursday night. The Chiefs held the Broncos to just eight points in a 19-8 victory at Arrowhead Stadium. As the Broncos drop down to the last position in the AFC West, quarterback Russell Wilson’s dreams are hanging by the thread.

9× Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLVIII champion with the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson joined the Broncos last season in a blockbuster trade. But after Week 6, Russell Wilson and team find themselves 1-5. HC Sean Payton’s schemes feel out of date and Wilson’s defense of his squad is all too repetitive. Something must give!

Wilson is once again putting up amazing numbers this season. 1.305 yards for 12 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. The 34-year-old is continuously being let down by the Broncos’ structure and the lack of urgency by his teammates. However, the QB still keeps shielding them.

“Guys up front I thought did a really good job being physical. It’s a really defense, really good defensive front too. And linebackers do a good job. I thought our guys did a really good job battling with those guys (Chiefs) play after play,” Wilson said at the post-game press conference.
