David Njoku is redefining strength. The Cleveland Browns tight end witnessed burns on his face after a fire accident at his house. After the incident, concerns for the Browns just elevated following the uncertainty about quarterback Deshaun Watson’s presence in the next matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. But there’s a positive twist in the story.

Even after a harrowing fire incident, David Njoku, showing his impeccable character, stood up to serve his team. The 27-year-old tight end, who is serving the Browns for the seventh season, has lodged 10 catches and 92 yards till now in the 2023 NFL season. And the stats are all set to ascend in the next matchup.

ESPN journalist Kimberley A. Martin took to her Twitter account to share an update on David Njoku’s presence for the game against the Baltimore Ravens. She stated that Njoku wanted to play against the Ravens, but the team would check if he could put on his helmet.

Sharing the news, Martin tweeted, “Browns TE David Njoku, who suffered burns on his face and hands in a fire pit incident at his home, has been adamant BTS that he’s playing vs. the Ravens tomorrow… But the team *first* needs to see if he can get his helmet on … and play with it.” 

However, the character Njoku has shown is commendable. But it’s the harrowing fire accident that got him listed as “questionable” in the Browns injury report released on Saturday.

The harrowing fire incident raised concerns for the Browns

David Njoku suffered burns on his face and arms while lighting a fire pit in his backyard. Following this, Njoku shared an update saying the flesh was weak after the incident while ending his message on a positive note, hinting at his comeback.

Moreover, the Browns’ head coach, Kevin Stefanski, shared a positive statement on Njoku by stating, “He’s made a huge impact for us already. He’s very close to why we’re having success. He gets a ton of attention from defenses in the pass game. He does a great job competing in the run game.

As uncertainty looms over quarterback Watson’s presence in the game, QB2 Dorian Thompson-Robinson will take the lead of the team’s offense. Standing strong with two victories and one defeat, the Browns and the Ravens are in the same boat.
