Will the ray of hope that emerged last Sunday be dashed in the next game for the Denver Broncos? After back-to-back unfortunate losses against the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, and the Miami Dolphins, Russell Wilson’s team finally secured their first win of the season against the Chicago Bears, winning 31-28.

Now, the team is preparing for their Week 5 game against the New York Jets on Sunday at Empower Field. However, before moving forward, the team has decided to make some important transactions, including releasing some players. Moreover, the recently released injury report also raises concerns for the Orange Crush.

Russell Wilson and head coach Sean Payton have made some bold moves, releasing a few players and signing others. The most notable release is linebacker Randy Gregory, a decision made to “focus on young players.” In addition to this, they also released an injury report on Wednesday, listing ten players, including Gregory, as questionable.

Pookie’ Javonte Williams (Quad) did not practice that day, and along with him, the newly released Gregory was also placed in the same category. Other players, including Baron Browning (knee injury), Frank Clark (hip injury), Lloyd Cushenberry (Quad), Josey Jewell (hip injury), Jerry Jeudy (knee injury), Mike Purcell (ribs), and Justin Simmons (hip injury), were all limited participants in Wilson’s team.

Furthermore, only P.J. Locke (toe) participated in full practice on Wednesday. There is speculation that Locke and Browning, who practiced for the first time this season, will return from IR to play against the Jets on Sunday. As the Broncos move forward with a mix of injured and non-injured players, the Jets, on the other hand, are facing some more concerning situations with their weapons.

The Jets are battling a bumpy road ahead

The Jets, especially Zach Wilson, showcased an impressive performance last Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs at MetLife Stadium. However, as Wilson’s Green team gears up to face Wilson’s Orange team, the excitement is building, given that both Wilsons have faced their fair share of challenges this season from the very beginning.

Reed and G Wes Schweitzer are dealing with severe concussions. Reed is likely to miss the Week 5 game, as he did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

On the other hand, Schweitzer took part in a limited practice on that day. Additionally, players like Sam Eguavoen (ankle injury) and Brandin Echols (hamstring) were also absent from practice. Meanwhile, players such as Tony Adams (hamstring), Mekhi Becton (knee injury), Jarrick Bernard-Converse (foot injury), and Carter Warren (shoulder injury) were limited participants for the Jets on Wednesday.
