The incident of concern had happened as the QB had reached the sideline. Linebacker Isaiah Simmons, who jumped on Smith’s back to bring him down, had tackled him from behind. This led to Smith’s legs twisting underneath him, causing the pain to not subside in the required amount of break time provided during the first half.
However, after missing time in the first half due to a knee concern, quarterback Geno Smith made a comeback against the Giants in the second half. It appeared that Smith’s injury was under control by the time the second part of the matchup rolled in. In the absence of Smith, Drew Lock took over his place and led the team on a touchdown drive.
