Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift form the NFL’s most famous love story since Patrick and Brittany Mahomes tied the knot. Probably even more popular than the Kansas Captain and his wife currently. Since their relationship went public, Swift has appeared at multiple Chiefs games and caught the attention of even some Hollywood celebrities.

But nobody was expecting pop icon Katy Perry to be one of them. Perry has had a bitter relationship with the 12x Grammy winner in the past ten years. But it looks like she has gotten over the ‘Bad Blood’ with Swift. And her recent response to one of Kelce-Swift’s photos came as a surprise to many.

Following the Chiefs’ latest game against the Broncos, the Chiefs’ tight end, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift left the venue together. Expectedly, the photos boomed on the internet and many celebrities had their reactions to it. But when the ‘Roar’ singer showed up under one such photo shared on Instagram, fans were curious about what was really going on. Perry left a pretty bizarre comment under the photo.

One Twitter account, named ‘Pop Base’, shared the screenshot of the comment in a post. And the Swifties were not only shocked at the ‘Roar’ singer’s sudden interest, but also at the comment itself. Perry left a comment saying “I ship” under one of the photos.

For starters, ‘I ship’ is a proverb for adoration in a couple’s relationship. It is mentioned when someone approves a duo on their journey together. However, the term has not been used much in recent years. After originating somewhere during the mid 90s, it was only relevant in the 90s and 2000s decade and many aren’t aware of the phrase’s existence. Because of that, some Swifties were cringing hard at Perry’s untimely reaction. See some of their reactions here:

Realizing the meaning, a few were relieved that Perry had finally forgotten the past.

It’s great to know that Perry doesn’t want to hold on to what happened in the past. It wasn’t always like that for the singers though, but one incident effectively ended the relationship between the two friends.

Why did Katy Perry stop talking to Taylor Swift?

It has been over a decade since Perry shared a conversation with Taylor. The duo shared a great friendship in the early 2010s, but they clashed over a group of backup dancers during their shows in 2013. Three dancers reportedly left Swift’s Red tour to join Perry’s Prism tour, which did not sit well with Swift. The former besties eventually stopped talking and never crossed each other’s paths again.

While it’s hard to know what Swift feels about Perry now, it’s just a bad dream the other way around. Kelce can take the credit if Swift, too, decides to break the ice with Perry anytime soon. Love truly brings people closer, one or the other way around!
