At the moment, the Kansas City Chiefs are battling against the Denver Broncos at home. The first touchdown of the game came from the unexpected player, Chiefs’ Kadarius Toney. Even though the wide receiver has immense talent and potential, he has not been able to live up to his potential, except on a few occasions.

More than on the field, he is making headlines for his off-field activities and behaviors. This touchdown could serve as a booster for him. Kadarius Toney is the only receiver on the Chiefs’ roster who has not seen a single receiving target in the red zone.

The way the Chiefs’ wide receiver has performed this season, he may want to forget it soon enough. In Week 1, he dropped several key passes against the Detroit Lions, leading to a loss for the Chiefs. Across five games in 2023, he has only managed 83 receiving yards on 14 receptions. This statistic represents one of the worst yards per reception marks in the NFL for any player with a minimum of 13 targets.

In the second quarter, the Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception towards Toney, and he didn’t miss the opportunity, scoring the first touchdown of the game. His performance in today’s match seems like he is trying to make things right, taking accountability for his earlier poor performance. Toney scored the first touchdown, but the Chiefs have been in control of the game since the first quarter.
