In Week 1 of the NFL, the New York Jets played against the Buffalo Bills. Even though they won that game, they lost their star player Aaron Rodgers. During the game, he suffered an Achilles injury and had to prematurely exit the entire season. The Jets had high hopes for Rodgers, to the extent that both the Jets and the NFL world were hoping they would reach the playoffs with his assistance.
The squad’s hopes were shattered as Rodgers underwent surgery and rehabilitation. Interestingly, although the injury typically takes at least 9-12 months to recover from, Rodgers is already showing impressive progress. However, there is no clarity on whether he will come back this season.

As Joe Pomliano puts it correctly, in the athletic world, an Achilles injury is considered one of the worst injuries as it can end a career because “Achilles is the strongest and thickest tendon in the body, and damaging it can negatively impact an athlete’s explosiveness.” That’s why during the initial phase, there were rumors that Rodgers was going to retire from the NFL. However, that did not happen, and five weeks later, we saw Rodgers walking without crutches and throwing the football. So, how is he able to recover so quickly? America’s fan-favorite sports analyst also came in with a solid reasoning whether Rodgers’ will make a comeback this year or not.
Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles on September 11th.
He then had an innovative new surgery to repair the tendon and is already walking without a boot and throwing the football just five weeks later.
But could he actually come back this year?

According to Pompliano, after the injury, Rodgers immediately contacted Dr. Neal ElAttrache and scheduled surgery. Dr. ElAttrache is a world-renowned surgeon in the sports world, having operated on athletes such as Kobe Bryant for his Achilles and Conor McGregor for his leg. To expedite recovery, Dr. ElAttrache performed speed bridge surgery on Rodgers, a technique he had previously used on Cam Akers, who also suffered from an Achilles injury but recovered within 5 months.
This technique has the potential to reduce the recovery period to just 5-6 months. Rodgers is devoting five hours to his rehab every single day. However, considering his age, as he is almost 40 now, whether Rodgers will fully recover and be back on the field in 4-5 months remains a mystery.

What does Rodgers think about his possible comeback timeline?
Although there is no clear timeline for Rodgers’s comeback, his actions are clearly indicating that he really wants to be on the field this season. Recently, in a conversation with the Manning brothers on ‘Monday Night Football,’ he talked about his goal to be back and play for the Jets this season. He said, “I’ve had a couple of injuries over the years. I think for me, you always have to set a goal otherwise you go kind of crazy. The goal is to definitely come back.” But at the same time, he admitted that he is aware of the obstacles and the realistic time period for the comeback.
In the Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, he put on the headset, demonstrating his commitment to help his team in any possible way. In the betting world, the odds of Rodgers not being able to play again this season are favored over the odds of his possible return this season. What do you think about his possible return?
