The 4-time MVP was recently on The Pat McAfee Show and, understandably, the host Pat McAfee enquired about A-Rod’s rehab process. He answered, “My doctor did a newer, innovative surgery. And I asked him if we could push it if we could push it beyond the normal protocols.” A-Rod also went into the specifics of recovery time.
The former Green Bay Packers QB said, “I just wanted to do things quicker; smart but quicker. You know the most important thing is you just don’t want to stretch the Achilles, stress, okay; stretch, not okay. So it’s just about being smart with the rehab and pushing it as much as I can and then backing off on the days that it doesn’t feel great.”
A-Rod emphasized that walking without the crutches is fine since that is inducing stress. But other strenuous activities can cause stretch to his Achilles tendon. However, the superstar QB is making a quick turnaround to get back to the field. His team, the New York Jets, are also making a quick turnaround in their fortunes.
