Days after penning a letter to the New York Jets, Colin Kaepernick has found his new home. The NFL quarterback has now transitioned into a social activist. He experienced a derailing of his successful NFL career after taking a knee during the national anthem in 2016.

While that day marked the emergence of another leader for the Black community, Kaepernick lost his NFL home. Yet, the NFL’s cornrows star continued to make a significant impact in the domain of social activism and endorsements. And more recently, he made an impact through his dream project alongside Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Following his rejection by the Jets and the NFL, Colin Kaepernick has made a comeback with a wildcard entry, but not in the NFL itself. Instead, he’s introduced his new dream project, “The Wildcard Football,” an online game that he’s been promoting for several months this year. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback unveiled an introductory video of the game on his Instagram. “You don’t want to miss out on the best football game! Use your power ups and become a game changer! Check out Wild Card Football! Available on all platforms!” read the caption. He tagged Saber Interactive, the company behind the game’s development and publishing.

This 7-on-7 Throwdown is an arcade-style football video game that was released on October 10. Alongside Kaepernick, NFL stars like Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Joey Bosa, and 96 other NFL players also make appearances in the game, promising an exciting experience. It’s available on multiple platforms, from PC to consoles, and features thrilling power-ups that transform players into super-sized characters. With flying saucers hovering over the field, the game poses a unique challenge for players aiming to reach the end zone.

This marks the first time that Kaepernick has been featured as a playable character since Madden NFL 22. As for his potential return to the offline football world, it appears that Kaepernick has just two remaining options.

Will Colin Kaepernick make a comeback into football?

While the 35-year-old has expressed interest in returning to the NFL, it appears he isn’t considering other leagues such as the XFL and CFL. According to a source, Kaepernick currently has two options on the table. The XFL, which is partially owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, discussed the possibility of Kaepernick joining their league earlier this year. The Rock had an interesting response to this, stating, “We met with Kap and his agents (whom I like a lot) earlier this year. Good meeting, looked to create opportunity for him but I don’t think it’ll happen. We’ll see.

The Rock’s comments suggest his interest in bringing Kaepernick on board. But it was later revealed that the quarterback’s agents declined the offer. If Kaepernick isn’t interested in the XFL, his other option is to join CFL teams.

Earlier in the past six years, Kaepernick received offers from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes. However, things didn’t work out with these teams. And now the BC Lions are attempting to approach him. The Canadian football team has expressed interest in signing him and has added him to their negotiation list. However, as of now, the NFL star quarterback hasn’t shown interest in this group either.
