The New Year brought Brock Purdy and the 49ers what they desperately needed: A redemption! With a convincing win over the Commanders, they maintained their NFC lead and remain the Super Bowl favorites. And their happiness extended beyond the Gridiron.
Purdy’s mom, Carrie, is an avid fan of the QB. She is one of the biggest supporters of Purdy and never misses a single 49ers game. As the 5x Super Bowl winners claimed their win on New Year’s Eve, a tweet from Mrs. Purdy came forth wishing the Red and Gold Nation a new year.

Carrie Purdy loves the 49ers as much as she loves her sons, Brock and Chubba. And the team, led by her elder son, restored her happiness on Sunday afternoon with a win over the Commanders. Excited by the outcome and fuelled by the occasion of the new year, Mrs. Purdy put up a family photo in 49ers jersey, wishing everyone a happy new year.

The QB’s younger brother, Chubba, elder sister, Whittney, dad, Shawn and Carrie herself were present in the frame. Everybody had their 49ers’ apparel on, and the proud mama shared nothing but love for the team and its fans.
The occasion was made special by the team’s much-needed win against the Commanders, which retains their NFC top spot. Unexpectedly favorable outcomes in relevant games also helped them, but they made the most out of the situation.

Purdy threw 230 yards for 2 TDs, and most importantly: No interceptions against the Commanders. The 49ers held the home side to 10 points at FedEx field, and held their Super Bowl hopes high as well. After all that was said and done following the Ravens‘ game, the QB and his defense replied with a strong performance.
They were further helped by the Lions‘ and Eagles‘ unexpected loss on the same day, the only other NFC teams with an 11-4 record to their name before the game. However, the 49ers’ biggest revenge still awaits, potentially on February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium, against the Ravens. And it’s more probable than not at this point after the latter’s humiliation of the Dolphins where Lamar Jackson threw for 5 touchdowns. A season-ending banger is in the making!
