With continuous losses in the season and just a 4-8 record in the NFL standings, the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t looking good this year. And it’s obvious, according to the rumors, that these upsets may put head coach Zac Taylor out of the coaching job after the season is over. Really?
During a recent appearance at The Rich Eisen Show, head coach Zac Taylor talked about the upcoming games and his faith in the locker room. But amidst all these, he also revealed what the ownership thinks about him. Especially after the arguably poor form of the Bengals. To which, he replied, “We’re all in this thing together that’s the beauty of the Cincinnati Bengals is.”
Explaining his point further about his relationship with the franchise’s ownership, Zac Taylor expressed, “We communicate every single day. And so we’re always on the same page through good times and bad times. and so it makes it very easy when that communication is so streamlined and it’s constant and so there’s never any surprises on either end and so it’s a good relationship, a great communication.”

Well, with these statements, it seems Zac Taylor is sure of not getting any surprises of being fired in the mid-season or hopefully in the next season too. But again, it’s only a hope for Taylor. Mike Brown is actually known for his loyalty, especially when it comes to his head coaches. But how far can that loyalty go?
If the Bengals miss the playoffs this year or fail to build consistent playoff momentum, it might come at a heartbreaking cost. And the repercussions are already visible in the locker room.
Joe Burrow made a cryptic remark about Zac Taylor’s team
After the recent loss against the Steelers 38-44, Joe Burrow appeared frustrated with the results. Hence, while speaking to the media, he said, “I think we’ll learn a lot about who we have in the locker room, the guys we can count on going forward, and the guys we can’t. The next 6 weeks will say a lot about who we can count on and who we can’t.” Well, he didn’t clearly reveal who he was speaking about. But one thing was clear: there was something wrong in the locker room.

Therefore, curious to know, host Rich Eisen asked Zac Taylor what he thinks about this remark. Taylor emphasized how adversity reveals people’s true character. He pointed out that in his six years with the Bengals, they’ve experienced both the highs of great seasons and the lows of tough ones. Through it all, adversity has shown him who can truly endure and rise to the challenge. In addition to that, he explained that winning and competing for AFC Championships or Super Bowls is the easy part. That’s because it doesn’t require much management. But the real test comes during challenging times like now.
Hence, Zac Taylor is observing the situation and will try to make things better. But in reality, it seems there is a time to reset things in Cincinnati.
