Ever wondered who your favorite WWE superstar supports in the NFL? And what if you thought him to be a supporter of one team, but turns out he switched his allegiance to their rivals? Well, many might relate to it as WWE star Cody Rhodes has ditched Cincinnati Bengals star QB Joe Burrow. And has now placed his allegiance to their AFC rivals Buffalo Bills.
Bills posted an image of the WWE star on their social media handles. In that, he’s holding their no. 52 jersey with his name on the back of it. They captioned the picture, “The American Nightmare showing love for Bill Mafia.”

This would surely be a shocking moment for many Bengals supporters. Earlier this year in July, Rhodes backed Burrow in one of his social media posts and urged him to complete his story this season. In his post, he shared the QB’s photo dressed up like him and wrote, “Time to finish your story this season Joe Burrow”. However, with this new development, it can be assumed that his love for Bengals and Burrow is all but gone.
When Joe Burrow sent a cheeky reply to Cody Rhodes’ “finish the story” comment
Cody Rhodes’ “finish the story” comment to Joe Burrow, was a reference to his Wrestlemania XL’s championship win against the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns in April. However, this comment was quite hyped amongst the fans. One of whom chose to convey it to the young QB during one of the training sessions in July.
A video emerged on social media where a fan said, “Cody says you gotta finish the story, Joe”. But Burrow, who was unaware of this then-ongoing trend, questioned what this “story” was. The fan then simply urged him to win a championship this season. However, instead of a direct answer, the 27-year-old QB replied, “The story’s never finished”.

Well if Burrow was aware of this trend wasn’t clear. But he was seen quite happy to sign t-shirts, balls, and other items for his fans who came in that day all the way to see him practice at the camp. However, this season hasn’t been how Rhodes or Burrow both hoped it would be for the Bengals. With a 4-6 record, Cincinnati is currently in the second-last spot in the AFC North, just above Cleveland. With half the season gone and just 7 more games remaining, they are running against the clock to get to the qualifying spot for the playoffs.
Will Burrow and co. find a way back on track from their drastic form this season, make a spot for themselves at the January games, and win a championship? Although it looks highly unlikely, we need to wait to find out.
