Five years with Travis Kelce, one messy breakup, and still the internet won’t let Kayla Nicole live. The girl breathes, and someone’s dragging her into the Taylor-Kelce drama. Everything she does, the internet just finds a reason to link it with her ex. She is wearing red? ‘Oh, she is copying Taylor Swift.’ The trolls just won’t let her catch a break. Nicole seems to be over that breakup for so long, but some fans just won’t stop. Nicole, on the other hand, is not just surviving this unnecessary hate and the trolls, but she is thriving. The 33-year-old has been doing it all like a diva.
And to add to her achievements, Nicole won a Fox TV show, and WNBA star Cameron Brink didn’t hesitate to give Kayla her flowers. Here’s the scoop: Kayla made an appearance on Cameron Brink’s latest episode of Straight to Cam. The official Straight to Cam Instagram page dropped a teaser of the latest episode, and in the short clip, Brink, while appreciating Kayla, gives a four-word verdict: “You’re tough as s—.” The only verdict that matters – the one that comes from people who know her, not some random people behind a screen. “I’m so sorry for swearing, but you are literally the toughest,” added Brink.

“No, thank you. I take that. It’s the coolest thing that I’ve ever done. I’ve never really won anything in my life. I did pageants for like two years in college. Coolest thing that I’ve ever done. I’m so proud to have made it to the end,” replied Kayla.
Kayla, a model, media personality, and journalist, also got candid about the hate she receives from online trolls with host Cameron Brink and Sydel Curry-Lee. The troll saga began ever since Chiefs TE Travis Kelce started dating Taylor Swift. People have been writing all sorts of racist and hateful comments about Nicole on her social media accounts. “I see someone in my comments at least once a week [saying], ‘Girl, they are going in on you on Reddit’,” she shared.
But the model and influencer have only one mantra to block out the entire negativity. “No. 1 is just logging the f–- out. That’s my No. 1 go-to; when it becomes too much, I just have to log out. Because it’s not the real world, there’s life happening beyond the internet,” she said during the podcast.
So while the model and journalist have the perfect way to block out negativity, her recent victory proves that she is winning at life despite all the negativity being thrown her way.
Winning beyond the hate: Kayla Nicole’s success
In January, Kayla announced on Instagram that she would be a part of the 2025 season of the Fox show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. In her post, she shared some sneak peeks from the show, with the first picture showing her hanging from a helicopter. The first episode aired on January 8, and the final episode aired on February 5. This season featured several athletes, including former NFL players Golden Tate and Cam Newton, as well as Olympic stars Nathan Adrian, Marion Jones, and Jordyn Wieber. During the podcast, Cameron Brink also mentioned how Kayla outperformed all these talented athletes to win the show.

The show, which lasted 10 episodes, ended with Kayla Nicole and Brody Jenner as the only two people remaining in the competition. All the other contestants, including the athletes, were eliminated during the final stages of the show.
After winning the show, Nicole, in an interview with People in February, shared how she won the show with her “grit and grind,” something nobody can take away from her. The 33-year-old added, “My success has been attributed to people that I was in close proximity to. And that’s not anything new for me. That’s something that happens to women all the time, especially in the entertainment industry and public fields.“
