If a hardcore Philadelphia Eagles fan is seen donning the Kansas City Chiefs jersey, it’s not surprising to witness the dismay of the NFC division fans. Recently, Taylor Swift‘s father was seen cheering for his daughter’s beau from the sidelines, wearing a Chiefs’ lanyard. While Tay Tay’s pop may have showered his blessing on the duo, Eagles fans came forward with their dismay about Scott Kingsley Swift.

Taylor Swift and her family have been longtime Eagles fans. The Philadelphia-based singer even used the team’s name in one of her songs. However, her 71-year-old dad, who was spotted having a good time with Travis Kelce in Buenos Aires, seemingly developed a newfound love for the Chiefs’ squad. The Iggles aren’t happy about it and wondering if Swift’s father would side with his daughter or stick with his longtime allegiance to the Eagles.

As Travis Kelce finally made it to the south of the equator, a lot took place thereafter. From Taylor Swift rushing into his arms in Buenos Aires to Kelce’s revelation about dropping a single as a part of the Christmas album, the Swift effect is visible. But again, nothing is one-sided here. Papa Swift, who is a hardcore Eagles fan, was spotted hanging out with Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce in the VIP box when Swift was performing in Argentina. The meeting itself, probably wouldn’t have added much controversy if not for the Chiefs lanyard Mr. Swift had around his neck.

While the Swifties and the Chiefs fans were elated with the sight, a section of the Eagles fanbase was seemingly put out with the sighting of the merch, worsened by the fact they lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, less than a year ago. Things became quite serious and the Eagles fans expressed their dismay online against the 71-year-old. Some went as far as labeling him as a “cheater” and “traitor” for the act.

One fan shared an image of “Welcome Home Cheater” sign written on a banner, and captioned it, “Philadelphia eagles to Scott Swift with the chief’s lanyard.” Another fan wrote, “Ik my guy Scott Swift from Southeastern PA feelin a little traitorous in that chiefs lanyard after the Eagles lost to them in the superbowl not even a year ago”, followed by a crying emoji.
