With Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson stepping away, Fox NFL coverage will not be the same. Erin and Charissa were not just sideline reporters for Fox, they were part of a dream team that helped Fox beat their broadcast competitors to stay at the top. Even though the two never worked on a game together in their 12-year Fox journey, Thompson has no regrets. With Andrews being the heart of it, Thompson said her Fox journey was the best relationship she had. “…In a world where there’s competition sometimes in this space, it’s so nice to have an ally, my best friend, and my biggest supporter… I grew up at FOX. It has been with me through multiple divorces, and I always joke it’s been my longest-lasting relationship and my best one,” Thompson said. While there is no clarity over where we will see the two next, Erin and Charissa recently opened up about how they envision their lives after leaving the spotlight.

Even though Thompson’s Fox contract is up, she is still employed by Amazon Prime Video for their Thursday Night Football show. Having signed the back in 2022, Thompson will host its pregame, halftime, and post-game coverage. So you know where to tune in the next season if you want to see Charissa in her elements. And Andrews? Well, the 46-year-old may go back to where it all started for the veteran reporter. Having started her journey with the NHL, there’s growing buzz that she could trade the NFL sidelines for NHL rinkside reporting once again. Just last week, Andrews was spotted at a fire relief fundraiser hosted by the LA Kings, adding fuel to the speculation.

Erin and Charissa’s Fox chapter may be over, but they are not fading from the spotlight anytime soon. The iconic duo will reunite on March 7 for the inaugural She is Football Women’s Summit at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. As for their retirement, Andrews and Thompson never plan to step away from doing their favorite job, as revealed in their Calm Down podcast.

Like any regular day, Andrews and Thompson came together on their Calm Down Podcast and talked about their plans to retire from the world of journalism on a small scale. They do not want a big farewell from big firms like FOX or ESPN instead, they would want to promote local news.

Charissa Thompson revealed the deets, claiming, “Erin and I also have an affinity for local news, there’s going to be a time in our lives, I hope it’s a retirement community in Florida or somewhere where they can roll us out and we can work like a couple days a week and The Morning News can or anytime like the Evening News can you imagine?” Everyone knows how iconic the duo is and if they work on a small show, that can actually be enjoyable. But there’s another condition for Erin Andrews. She does not want to host an early morning show. She would rather prefer that this retirement gig be more comfy for her.

Andrews added that she will be looking forward to having a comfortable experience with a local news network. She explained, “I can imagine, I think we should have a 10 O’clock Morning Show, I do on a national network, I do. I just think we should, it’d be great if the plus ones could come in for a segment, it’d be a time.” There you have it! You now know where we can see Andrews and Thompson for the final time. But what about the upcoming NFL season? Can they return to FOX for that?

Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson’s thoughts on FOX are poles apart

Some people enjoy working in the same environment; after all, spending time in a firm makes you feel at ease. But some people are constantly on the lookout for fresh possibilities to experiment in their lives. And here’s where Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson diverge. Andrews has been with FOX since 2012, and while her contract expired this year, she is hoping to return.

Erin Andrews is one of the production’s most well-known names, so re-signing her would be an obvious choice. The 46-year-old also thinks the same as she discussed the possibilities on the podcast, “I really hope I’m still employed by FOX when FOX gets a Vegas Super Bowl. This is epic, it’s Tuesday, it’s nutty, I wish the weather was better, but this is crazy. I just did a panel, and they were serving me like bloody Marys. The people were drinking at 9 a.m. when I was on the panel. It was nuts.”

What’s your perspective on:

Will Erin Andrews' love for FOX bring her back, or is it time for new adventures?

Have an interesting take?

While Andrews can be expected to join the FOX panel next season, Thompson’s stance is completely different. Charissa’s reaction to Andrews’ wish reveals her viewpoint on the company. “It’s probably best for my future employment that I’m not there,” Thompson joked, “Because we know I do not have any kind of governor when it comes to these things.”

Although this was a joke, it could affect Thompson’s relationship with FOX. But will Charissa even approach them in the first place? Perhaps it will be revealed in the future. But for now, the focus can be on Erin Andrews, as she has the potential to return. But the real question is when it can happen.
