Shaquille Leonard has a lot on his plate right now. He began with the Indianapolis Colts in 2018, and his career took a U-turn when he suffered a couple of back injuries last year. Now, the Colts let him go, and he is a free agent with a choice to make life-changing decisions. Many people are asking for him, especially those at the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. However, he is taking his time to decide the best possible course of action.

Ian Rapoport broke the news about the Eagles and the Cowboys wanting a piece of this linebacker. “A lot of smile and laughter” might be on the table for the ex-Colts linebacker here. The tweet gave more insight into what happened between Leonard and these two teams over the past few days.

The post from MLFootball says that the free agent is set to make his decision, but it depends on which team, the Eagles or the Cowboys, will make it to the playoffs this year. While the Cowboys are a wild card, there is no contest that the Eagles are making it to the playoffs. He has visited the Eagles and the Cowboys to decide what to do. However, both teams let him go with food for thought.

It may be logical to go with the Eagles because of Leonard’s relationship with Nick Sirianni, who also coached the Colts. They had some catching up to do and re-lived old memories. However, some say that the linebacker is better suited to be with the Cowboys, considering how hard it is to topple their defense with the likes of Micah Parsons in their arsenal.

Both teams are ailing with injured LBs as the veteran decides his next action.

Which team will Leonard choose?

The Eagles desperately seek a linebacker as Zach Cunningham suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for at least a week. Also, their second-year LB Nakobe Dean is on IR right now. The same is the case with the Dallas Cowboys, who lost their veteran LB Leighton Vander Esch as he will be out for the season because of his neck injury.

Considering the facts, Leonard is rumored to decide over the weekend. He stated clearly that he would join the team that might make it further and reach the playoffs. For some people, the Eagles as a choice is too obvious. While for others, Leonard is a panacea for the Cowboys’ sub-par performance.
