No team can achieve greatness without a great head coach. Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots and Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs exemplify this greatness. But, as Belichick’s fortune loses his side, Reid’s star is on the ascendence. With that, HC Reid is poised to overtake Belichick.
Both of them have a storied coaching career spanning decades. Both started as assistant coaches and both of them secured Super Bowls in that position. However, Reid is looking to leave Belichick behind in wins!

As head coach Belichick has 29 years under his belt while Reid has 25. And now that the legendary Patriots’ HC’s wins in the NFL have dried up, Reid continues to win. The 71-year-old Belichick has 300 wins, but Reid is catching up with 254 wins. And if the present trend continues, it won’t take Reid that long.
Andy Reid is slowly/quietly catching up to Bill Belichick in coaching wins.
Bill consistently had ~70 wins on Reid up to 2020, but since then Reid has 20 more wins than Bill (with more to go this season).

Both the coaches have admiration for each other, which hasn’t dried up. In 2019, Reid said about facing Belichick, “You love the opportunity to go against the best. That’s what, you cherish that”. Belichick, in the same year, praised the 65-year-old. “He’s as good a play-caller and game-planner as anybody I’ve coached against”.
Both the coaches share 11 Super Bowls between them. 8 of them as Head Coaches. Belichick famously has won 6 Super Bowls with the Patriots and Reid 2 with the Chiefs. Not only in the overall wins department, but Reid is making ground in head-to-head clashes as well.
Belichick vs Reid is always electric
Both coaches possess the tactical genius to take the game away from any team. But whenever they go against each other, it’s fireworks for all football fans. They have met 11 times, and the score is 7-4 in favor of Belichick. But the recent past shows that Reid is getting closer.

The last two meetings between them weren’t even close. The Chiefs thrashed the Patriots home and away. With Tom Brady gone and Patrick Mahomes getting better every season, the Chiefs and Reid will extend their winning streak.

They’ll have the chance to do just that when they play at the Gillette Stadium for the week 15 matchup. On that day, these two coaches will once again come face-to-face and tussle for superiority.
