Can Lamar Jackson ever reach the GOAT status like Tom Brady, or is it a pipe dream?

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is coming off a sensational 2023 NFL season that saw him getting crowned MVP for the second time in his career. Although the three-time Pro Bowler is considered one of the best QBs playing in the NFL right now. Jackson himself looks up to a certain player who many refer to as the GOAT.

Speaking about drawing inspiration from Tom Brady, Jackson opened up on his thoughts about the seven-time Super Bowl champion on the Lounge Podcast. “I can’t call it, man. He just got his will about him. He go well by himself, man, where it’s like he knows what’s going to do when he’s out there on that field, his approach to the game, you know and stuff like that,” Jackson stated.

Adding to his views about Brady, Jackson talked about the stuff that made the ex-Patriots QB a legend, among others, “He got seven he went to another team and got one right. And I believe he did he go like he was almost going again, like he almost went twice with the Buccaneers. You know, so like that’s just crazy man that unheard of, and I want to follow those footsteps.”

Well, the 27-year-old QB isn’t wrong as Brady showed his talent on the field, which brought him Super Bowl titles with the Patriots and the Buccaneers, whom he joined at later stages of his legendary career. However, this isn’t the first time that Jackson and Brady have been found to praise each other.

Back in 2019, when Jackson won his first MVP title, Brady cast his vote in the name of the Ravens QB. Moreover, Jackson got the better of Brady whenever he came across him in the NFL while holding a 2-0 record against the 15-time Pro Bowler. He even received compliments from Brady on his Let’s Go podcast, “You’re the reason why people watch the NFL.”

But for Jackson, securing the MVP title isn’t the only thing on his mind. As the Ravens QB hopes to achieve more in his NFL career by reaching his ultimate dream of winning the Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson dreams of getting his hands on the Super Bowl

After securing a record-breaking season for the Ravens that saw him rack up 3,678 yards, 24 TDs and only 7 interceptions, Jackson is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his inspiration. Speaking with the GOAT on his Let’s Go podcast, Jackson expressed, “I definitely do have that chip on my shoulder. I haven’t accomplished what I wanted to yet, so that’s why that chip is still on my shoulder.”

When asked about mentioning the chip he was talking about, Jackson shared, “I want that Super Bowl. That’s the accolade that I really want so bad. I feel like we have the team to do it. We have the guys in the building, coaching staff, training staff, equipment guys. We got everything we need right now.”

Well, Jackson isn’t the only one hoping for a strong season in 2024, as his coach, John Harbaugh, expressed his views on the QB helping them achieve their goals. “It’s going to happen by Lamar, his work ethic and his brilliant talent, by all of us pouring into that effort together as a team and by the grace of God and God’s goodwill,” Harbaugh stated.

Adding to his views about the Ravens’ chances with Lamar Jackson, Harbaugh conveyed, “He’s the best quarterback in football, we believe, and we are determined to prove it.” However, it remains to be seen whether the Ravens can rally behind their two-time NFL MVP while helping him secure the Super Bowl title that everyone dreams of throughout their football career.
