The New York Giants should probably start planning for their next season. Because a team that has a record of 2-12 after 15 weeks of the NFL is already down and out. They are on course to get the first overall in next year’s draft, where they can probably address their QB position. But before they do so, the Giants still have to play 3 games. And starting with the Falcons on Sunday, the G-Men have received a bit of good news on their QB2 Tommy DeVito that wasn’t really expected.
DeVito, who was playing his first game in three weeks last Sunday against the Ravens, suffered yet another injury. After coming back from a forearm contusion that kept DeVito out for three weeks, he was unfortunate enough to suffer a concussion. This led to the Giants QB leaving last week’s game just on the eve of the second half. He completed 10 of 13 passes for 68 yards without throwing a single TD. In his place, the Giants had to throw their fourth-choice QB, Tim Boyle.
Boyle played the final few minutes in the first half and then completed the whole of the second half. He went on to complete 12 of 24 passes for 123 yards while throwing one TD and an interception. But when the chances of DeVito coming back from a concussion looked grim. The Giants announced that their QB2 is out of his concussion protocol.

Now, you might be wondering why QB2. Well, there are two reasons behind it. One of them is the 26-year-old numbers, even after playing 3 games this season. During that span, DeVito had a 70.5% pass completion rate, and he has failed to produce a single TD to help his case. What makes his numbers worse is that the Giants QB2 has notched up just 257 passing yards. So, even after coming back from a concussion, Tommy DeVito will not play against the Falcons. Instead, they are going with Drew Lock for those remaining 3 weeks.
Giants reshuffle their QB room yet again as Drew Lock returns to claim his position back
Although it is almost certain that the Giants will pick a rookie QB for next season, they are still trying to find a reliable backup beyond this season. But none of them have really impressed out of the four QBs they had at one time. After cutting off their six-year starter Daniel Jones, DeVito won the role at the center. However, he couldn’t hold on to his place while the Giants kept on losing. Now, after he got injured before the Thanksgiving game with the Cowboys. Drew Lock has somewhat made the position of his own.

Even after suffering a heel injury, Lock has won the starting berth for the G-Men. Lock will come up against a Falcons side that has also made a change in their QB room. They have dropped their veteran QB Kirk Cousins to play rookie Michael Penix Jr. Drew Lock, who has 414 yards to his name and 2 interceptions out of 5 games. Still have a chance to step up and urge the Giants to make him QB2 for next season. Because, as per the current scenario, it doesn’t look like the Giants will rely upon any of their QBs next season.
