Can Joe Burrow overcome the Ravens' curse and lead the Bengals to a much-needed victory?

Is Joe Burrow back with vengeance this time? It was the Ravens game where Joe Shiesty suffered a season-ending wrist injury. The Bengals have lost 3 games to the Ravens since then, including the 41-38 loss in the fifth game of this season. Now the Ravens and Bengals will clash again on Thursday Night Football. Before that, we have some vital info on Orlando Brown Jr.

Now, Burrow is back at the M&T Bank Stadium where the Ravens fans changed “F—k Joe Burrow,” after he suffered the injury. Brutal, right? The Bengals are 4-5 right now and they need this win now more than ever. But there are a few thorns in Joe Burrow’s way. A couple of his key players might not be standing with him to stop Lamar Jackson in his home.

The Cincinnati Bengals released the injury updates ahead of the TNF game and there are four key players that Cincy might miss. Addressing the elephant in the room, Tee Higgins is doubtful to play against the Ravens because of his Quadricep injury. He missed the last two games and didn’t practice this week.

The Bengals labeled Orlando Brown Jr. as questionable due to a knee/fibula injury, yet he practiced on Tuesday. Brown missed the Sunday game and didn’t practice the whole week prior to the game. He suffered the injury to his knee/fibula in the game against the Cleveland Browns and played through it for two quarters. Supposedly, that got worse after the game.

But there are other Bengals who are ailing right now. The right defensive tackle, BJ Hill has a rib injury and moved from practice to limited on Wednesday. Per the Bengals’ IG Story, the tackle is listed as questionable. Also, the wide receiver, Charlie Jones is listed doubtful because of his groin injury. Jones missed the week 9 game against the Raiders. Fortunately, the Bengals won that game by a landslide (41-24).

Other Bengals players are injured but haven’t been assigned a status yet.

Here’s another curveball. Joe Burrow (right wrist), RB Chase Brown (rib) and DE Sam Hubbard (hamstring) have been going through issues and have no designations yet. But despite throwing 5 touchdowns in the game against the Raiders, Joe Burrow is not happy with the way he’s performing right now. The QB aspires to reach playoffs, but the 4-5 record isn’t convincing to him.

“How this season has gone, knowing what’s ahead of us, knowing what we’re going to have to do to get back into this, one win isn’t going to make or break our season,” Burrow said. “I’m going to strive for perfection every day and every game.” He later said that he has no reason “to be happy about.”

Winning against the Raiders was a “good enough day” for Burrow. Reminds us of the old Ice Cube song. Burrow’s ceilings for himself are too high and unless he beats a strong team like the Ravens, he might not feel like celebrating. Also, the injury of Orlando Brown Jr. might hurt them further.
