Baltimore Ravens are getting closer to their season-opener and the players on the roster have already started to fall out of line. Their rookie cornerback, who was supposed to serve their defensive team will no longer be playing on the team. This is because Nate Wiggins hurt himself when he was off the field.

It is unfair to the team and fans, but athletes sustaining severe injuries in their private lives is a variable that we cannot control or avoid. So, all the Baltimore Ravens could do was announce it to the rest of the fanbase.

The Head Coach comes up with a disappointing but good update

With the approaching game against the LV Raiders, there was a press conference in which John Harbaugh wanted to address the recent developments in the team. Unfortunately, to everybody’s surprise, he revealed that the star cornerback of the team wouldn’t be defending their side of the field in the upcoming game.

Nate was in a car accident a couple of days ago. They are kinda working through it. Looks like he’s not gonna be able to make it to the game, so he’ll be out for this game, I’m afraid,” said the Head Coach for the Ravens. To make sure that fans don’t get the wrong idea, Harbaugh further added, “He’s fine. He’s healthy. He’s just not gonna be able to play.

Other teams reportedly had eyes on the CB but he was able to become the first-round pick for the Ravens. Too bad he won’t be able to play the season opener, which would have been his first-ever NFL regular season game. According to reports, Nate Wiggins has suffered a neck injury which may take from a few days to some weeks to heal depending on exactly what happened. While it’s a bummer that he won’t be able to play at the Sunday game, at least he is healthy and fine.

This may be the time when the Ravens lose the second game of the season as well.

Will Nate Wiggins’ absence be of importance?

One fun fact about Nate Wiggins is that he also played as a wide receiver during his high school years but was primarily recruited as a cornerback. As a result, he has a crucial part to play in the team’s defense. This was supposed to be his second game during the NFL 2024 but it looks like the Ravens would have to make do without him. But does this give the Las Vegas Raiders a vantage point? Well, not really. During their season opener, the Raiders lost to the LA Chargers with a 22-10 score on the board. This means that their offense also isn’t all that well when it comes to it.

Since Nate Wiggins was supposed to be a part of the defensive team, his absence probably wouldn’t make that big of a difference. Whoever is replacing the newbie on the gridiron will probably do a good enough job. Both the teams had lost their season openers during week 1. So, we have to see who is stronger out of them. The head coach for Baltimore didn’t make it clear until now when he will be back but let’s hope the 21-year-old won’t have to miss the third game of the regular season this year.
