The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to continue their fine form to the regular season as they take on Charges in Los Angeles. With them preparing for this week’s challenge, the Chiefs have been treated to bad news on their defensive end. Mike Danna might not be travelling to Los Angeles this Sunday, as the defensive end is yet to recover from a calf injury suffered during practice this week.
Over three games this season, Danna has racked up 0.5 sacks with 8 solo tackles and might be the only key player absent from this clash. As Andy Reid offered an update, “As far as the injuries go, we’ve really just got Michael Danna, is the only one. After our walkthrough, that calf was bothering him, and so we’ll probably end up holding him out of the game until we get that thing calmed down a little bit.”
Mike Danna (calf) probably won’t play on Sunday, per Coach Reid.

Well, the former fifth-round pick has been a great contributor to the Chiefs over the seasons. Playing 62 regular season games and 13 postseason games whenever called upon. However, his start to this season has been the worst since 2020. His 54 pass-rush grade is the lowest among other NFL pass rushers operating this season.
But Danna has remained a key piece to the Chiefs’ defence alongside veteran George Karlaftis. However, continuing his recovery, Danna’s absence may offer chances to other players like DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah and Malik Herring. Well, that is the defensive side of the Chiefs going to their offense. RB Isiah Pacheco is still added to the injury reserves alongside Clyde Edwards-Helaire. With some of their key players out, will the Chiefs manage to extend their winning run to the season?

Will the Chiefs manage to continue their winning start in Los Angeles?
As the Chiefs prepare for the Chargers test this weekend, it would be a historical day for Mahomes. Him opening this game would mark his 100th start for the Chiefs, as he expressed his thoughts about the clash, “Offensively, we have to help the defense out by running some of that time off the clock or scoring a touchdown to kind of put the game out of reach.” Going back to last season, the Chiefs managed to beat the Chargers by the narrowest of margins as Harrison Butker’s last-minute field goal confirmed their 13-12 victory in week 18.

Well, Jim Harbaugh, who took upon the Chargers’ reign this season, shared his excitement about the clash, “It’s a tremendous opportunity, and we’re treating it as such.” However, the Chargers may endure major problems as some of their key starters will remain absent from this game. Rashaun Slater and Joe Alt are a few of the defensive players who are likely to sit out this weekend with respective pectoral and knee injuries.

Even Chargers QB Justin Herbert and edge rusher Joey Bosa may not play this weekend. Their respective ankle injury and hip injury may limit the Chargers’ ability to win this match-up. But we know how unpredictable the NFL can be, as we cannot rule out the Chargers, who are at home taking the Chiefs this week. Will the Chiefs manage to ace this challenge with key defensive players out? Or can the Chargers string a major surprise by handing them their first loss of the season? Well, we will get those answers very soon this Sunday.
