Can Laiatu Latu's return turn the tide for the Colts against the Bears this week?

Indianapolis Colts will face the Chicago Bears head-on during the third week this season and it seems like their defensive end is coming back. The star edge rusher for the team, Laiatu Latu is healing from a recent injury. That’s right, fate is in Latu’s favor and this comes across as great news for the Colts fans.

The AFC South team took to social media and announced several changes that they had to make to their strategy on-field because of all the recent injuries. Seeing a team’s athletes drop like flies must not have been an easy task for the viewers. However, Ian Rapoport soon swooped in with a scoop of positive updates.

To surprise the viewers who are keeping up with the sport, the reporter revealed that Latu is being considered day-to-day. This means that the athlete hasn’t been put on IR yet despite enduring a hip injury during his last game against the Green Bay Packers.

This is a good sign for the team’s DE, but we don’t yet know if he is confirmed to return to aid his team against the Bears. For that, fans would have to wait till the end of the week to know for sure if the medical team clears him for a role in the next match.

As of now, the Colts are 0-2 this season and no progress can be seen so far. However, this time around, they are facing a team with a 1-1 record, so the chances of winning are there if they play their cards right. This is why having the perfect roster was very important. Unfortunately, many of them won’t be appearing on the field.

Have an interesting take?

The defensive end’s sidelining seems rather temporary. And moreover, he will be monitored daily for any progress before potentially descending on the gridiron for the coming game against the Bears. Some of his other teammates, on the other hand, are not that lucky and will be getting replaced in the next match-up. In the tweet that Ian Rapoport replied to, for the positive update, the Indianapolis team was updating the NFL community regarding the changes they had to make to their 53-member line-up.

DE Genard Avery from the practice squad will make it to the main roster and DT DeForest Buckner has been put on IR. “We have signed DT Adam Gotsis, CB Gregory Junior, and DE Titus Leo to the practice squad and released DT McTelvin Agim and CB Ameer Speed from the practice squad,” the Colts further added. These are indeed a lot of changes to soak in before the third-week game. The team’s defense will have to work hard to maintain the chemistry and appear stronger than in their last two matches.
