Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld was among those who watched the Buffalo Bills dismantle the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Highmark Stadium. The Week 3 game saw the Bills win 47-10 with QB Josh Allen throwing four TD passes as his girlfriend Steinfeld watched on. While she was not shown on the ESPN broadcast, this appearance by the True Grit actress may not be the last due to her growing interest in the Bills.
Steinfeld is a lot more low-key about her NFL appearances than Taylor Swift. She has never been shown on the Jumbotron and doesn’t post about her appearances at Bills games. The news of her presence during the September 23 game was posted by Major League Football’s X account which showed the actress with other Bills fans in what seemed to be a private suite.
Given that she turned out to be the lucky charm for the Bills and her boyfriend in the last game, there is a chance we may get to see her in future games, but will she be there for the Bills’ next assignment against the Ravens on Sunday?

The actress showing up for NFL games has been a rarity and given the fact that the next game is in Maryland, there is a good chance, she may sit out this one. However, don’t be surprised if you get another update citing her appearance in the M&T Bank Stadium. Her love for Allen and the Bills has been growing stronger by the day.
The couple were first linked after being spotted together in New York City in May 2023. They made things Instagram official after Allen posted photos of them in July this year. Interestingly, photos from the same trip showed up on Steinfeld’s page sans-Allen. Moreover, Steinfeld has been open about her support for the Bills as evidenced in her newsletter.
In the September 13, issue of her Beau Society newsletter, the Hawkeye actress shared her excitement for the new season. She wrote, “So the rumors are true. Football season is back which means a few things. A) I get to watch my favorite person continue to make NFL history every week (go off 17). B) We’re just a few weeks away from drastic temperature drops (California girl speaking) where you’ll find me drinking hot chocolate bundled in vintage Bills gear.”
In her newsletter, she further highlighted her love for the Bills and its fans. She also mentioned she sources Queen City Vintage, a vintage store for her “favorite game-day pieces.” Steinfeld added, “I had this whole vintage fashion issue written up before Sunday’s home opener. But I spent most of the game thinking about 1) how lucky I am to get a front-row seat to the magic that is JA17, the entire Bills team and the stadium energy. 2) The people who make up Bills Mafia are second to none.”

These excerpts from her newsletter do indicate that she has shown up for quite a few Bills’ home games and may continue to do that in the future. But as for traveling away to watch her boyfriend play that might not be guaranteed at this point.
The actress and singer had her breakout role in Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), and has gone from strength to strength since. She’s had leading roles in Sony’s Spider-Verse films and plays Kate Bishop in the MCU. She kickstarted her music career after her performance of Flashlight in Pitch Perfect 2. She has, to date, released 2 EPs and 20 singles. She’s charted multiple times, and her 2015 debut lead single, “Love Myself,” was the highest charting debut for a female artist in 17 years.
Thus her NFL appearances would have drawn great attention had she chosen to have the spotlight on her. But since she likes to keep things under the radar as mentioned by ML Football in their tweet. However, it was the other part of the tweet that sparked fan fury.
Taylor Swift fans alleged MLFootball took a shot at the pop star
After Hailee Steinfeld attended the Bills’ home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the tweet by ML Football talking about her appearance went viral. The phrasing of the tweet in particular was what drew critique. “QB Josh Allen’s girlfriend, actress Hailee Steinfeld was on Monday Night cheering him on. Steinfeld was not shown on TV once, during the game. Steinfeld reportedly likes to keep a low profile and not make the game about her while attending.” While seemingly an innocuous statement, fans of Taylor Swift took it as a personal attack against their favorite pop star.
The “Taylor Swift Effect” is well documented at this point. Her relationship with Travis Kelce has drawn hundreds of thousands of new fans to the sport and hence it didn’t seem to sit well with her fans that she was being targeted for no reason according to them. Under ML Football’s post, a fan wrote, “How is Taylor making it all about her though? Did she ask to be shown multiple times?” Another fan hit out writing, “The sensitivity you people have towards Taylor Swift is incredible lmfao.”

Well, Swift’s fandom won’t take any sly jabs at her if that is what the ML Football post intended. As for Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld, they are happy with keeping their relationship details under wraps, even not dropping clues about the actresses’ next NFL appearance. As such it could be difficult to predict when she shows up next for a Bills game, but we can take a fair guess to assume it will be at the Highmark Stadium.
