The Indianapolis Colts will be riding off the high of their win against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Coming into the game 1-2, they might not have expected to be able to best the then-undefeated Steelers. Especially when they lost their starting quarterback, Anthony Richardson, in the first quarter. But they clinched it, with 39-year-old Joe Flacco at the helm. Richardson’s hip injury doesn’t seem to be too severe, but he’s not been confirmed for Sunday’s game, so Flacco might get a couple more chances to play.
Though Richardson hasn’t been ruled out, running back Jonathan Taylor, with a high-ankle sprain, has. It’s a shame, he had an excellent start to the season; 349 yards and 4 touchdowns rushing in 4 games. He suffered the injury after an awkward tackle in the 4th quarter of the Steelers game. Thankfully, it’s only a minor sprain, and we can expect to see him back on the field sometime this season.
#Colts coach Shane Steichen makes it official, as RB Jonathan Taylor (high-ankle) is out this week vs. the #Jaguars.

In his absence, Trey Sermon is set to start. Sermon has had a quiet season so far, though he has had some game time in all 4 games. He’s had one 7-yard reception and rushed a total of 24-yards in 9 carries. It’s impossible to say whether he’ll be able to perform at Jonathan Taylor’s level, but with so many injuries, the Colts are basically just trying to plug the gap.
The Indianapolis Colts go into their Sunday game against the Jacksonville Jaguars missing at least 3 players: running back Jonathon Taylor, defensive end Kwity Paye, and cornerback Kenny Moore II. The Jaguars haven’t won any games this season, and the Colts are definitely looking to extend the Jags’ losing streak. So what are the odds?

Are the Jags a serious threat to the Colts?
Of the 46 games the Colts have played the Jaguars in, the Colts have won 27 and lost 19. But in their last 5 games against each other, the Colts have won only one. But the past is the past, how are things looking this season? Well, the Jaguars are still 0-4, the only team to have lost 4 in a row this season. In fact, under Trevor Lawrence as quarterback, they’ve lost 9 games in a row. Things are looking bad for the Jaguars and coach Doug Pederson.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Jonathan Taylor's return turn the Colts' season around, or is it too little, too late?
Have an interesting take?
Contrast that with the Colts’ situation, even with Richardson out of the picture, they’ve got Joe Flacco to rely on. He cuts a striking figure, a little salt-and-pepper in his beard but confidence in his stance. The 39-year-old is a former Super Bowl MVP and has shown he has what it takes to lead a team against a strong opposition, even now. We don’t condone betting, but every major site massively favors the Colts when it comes to odds of winning.

It seems pretty clear cut, but nothing’s certain in the game of football. Some unknown rookie might have a breakout performance, or there might be a failure at a key point in the stronger team’s side. All it takes is one really impactful moment to turn the tide of the game sometimes. Stay tuned to find out how things turn out this Sunday, as the Colts take on the Jaguars.
