After the team’s victory, HC Mike McCarthy revealed on Monday, “Jake Ferguson was in good spirits and moving around well in the locker room.” As per the reports, the TE only experienced an MCL sprain. And now the team’s General Manager focused on the player’s health condition!
While Ferguson walked away from the field on Sunday, the injury may not keep him away from the gridiron for Week Two. Even the team’s owner Jerry Jones has also confirmed it. According to ProFootball Talk’s Tuesday tweet, fans can see the Pro Bowl player performing in the Cowboys’ next game. The X post read, “Jerry Jones is optimistic that the Tight end could perform on their Sunday game against the Saints.”

Jerry Jones’ positive message sent waves of euphoria throughout the Cowboys fandom. The rising star went through a left knee injury during the third quarter, exiting the gridiron in a worrying condition. The team’s GM said the five magical words, “He’s very excited about playing. I saw him right after our meetings yesterday and he was excited about it.”

Jones also mentioned it’s a huge relief for the team that the injury isn’t severe. With Jake Ferguson dodging a bullet, it is good to see the Week 1 game didn’t become a nightmare for America’s team. Interestingly, Jake managed to snag three catches for 15 yards before getting his knee hurt. He plays an important role for the Boys as the starting tight end.
