A clash of the wild! The Jaguars are all set to take on the Bears. Hmm… Interesting. If we’re looking at how the season has unfolded so far, it’s fair to say this one might lean toward Chicago (at least the 3-2 start, say so). But hey, do not count the Jaguars out just yet as they have received a hopeful update on their TE, Evan Engram.
Guess what? FOX Sports‘ Jordan Schultz is saying that Engram plans to suit up this Sunday against the Bears—unless something unexpected pops up, of course. That could be a big deal for the Jags! With how their offense has been struggling lately, having Engram back in the lineup might just be the boost they need to get things rolling again.

Now don’t get me wrong, backup Brenton Strange has been doing his thing with 12 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns. But let’s face it—Engram brings a whole different level of excitement. It’s like having your star player back just in time.
And most of all, it must be music to the ears of Trevor Lawrence. I mean, it sounds like it, considering he’s admittedly missed Engram. “Obviously he’s a huge part of our offense and hasn’t been out there the last month or so, so we’ve definitely missed him.”
And can you blame him? Well, it’s in front of us. The numbers haven’t been pretty so far. The Jags have only scored touchdowns on 8 of their 18 red zone trips this season. Ouch! But here’s the good news: Engram has been practicing in a limited capacity, and Coach Doug Pederson mentioned just last week that he’s getting close to being game-ready.
Fast forward to now, and the game’s on. But why the hype over his return, you may ask? I mean, yes, he brings that security. But was he the only missing piece in the Jags’ scheme of things?

With 188 passes and 1,734 yards under his belt, Evan Engram’s expected to shake things up on the gridiron come Sunday against Chicago. You know how it is—having a player like him in your corner feels like an early win. Even before the whistle blows!
Sure, he caught just one pass for five yards in the season opener against Miami. But are we going to get stuck on that? The guy got injured! And how can we forget that he led Jacksonville last season with a record-breaking 114 receptions? It was his career-best stat (like, of course), the best in franchise history, and the second-best in league history. That’s no small feat!
But here’s the kicker: the Jaguars’ defense is sitting pretty low in the rankings, 30th in points allowed—if you can believe it. No one’s expecting Engram to be a superhero and save the day on that end. But with his skills, he could definitely take some pressure off the offensive line and maybe even open up some lanes for the run game. It’s all about finding that rhythm, you know?

And Engram is all about that hustle. He said, “I think we’ve got a great game plan, and whatever the coaches need me to do to help the offense be successful, that’s what I’m going to do.” He’s ready to be versatile, whether it’s blocking or making those crucial catches. You can bet he’s all in.
Now, with the win against the Colts in week 5, the vibe is shifting for the Jags. But they need the Bears to be kind to them. Will the travels across the pond be too much for them?
