Bill Belichick has been with the New England Patriots for about 24 seasons. And now, it may be time for the NFL genius to put down his weapons. The New England Patriots are arguably having one of their worst seasons ever since the departure of Tom Brady and this has put Belichick under the spotlight as well; so much so that the rumors of his departure have soared high. But, is it really the 2-8 records the Patriots are harboring right now or does the rumored firing stem from different reasons?

Tensions surround the New England team as they go against the New York Giants. This game may come as the last draw for the Patriots’ management to look for other viable options in lieu of the legendary Patriots Head Honcho. Will the Patriots management wait for the end of the season to fire Belichick or is it coming sooner than we expected?

An article from the Intelligencer takes a deep dive into Belichick as a prospect to the Patriots. They indicate that if Belichick were to be fired, it might be unceremonious. Just like when Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry and regretted it. It’s true that Belichick has won 6 Super Bowls, but would the Patriots regret firing one of the most revered coaches in NFL history? Per Intelligencer, Belichick’s my-way-or-the-highway attitude has led the Patriots to be at their lowest this season.

The Patriots HC is in the eye of the storm after his team lost to the Indianapolis Colts in the game in Germany. The 10-6 loss was embarrassing, to say the least. Arguably, this is the worst season Belichick has faced in his long 24-season tenure. Since winning the Super Bowl LIII, the Bill Belichick-led team hasn’t won a playoff game.

However, the speculations have no confirmation attached to them yet. While many eminent players, coaches, and management staff from various teams have been made to shift teams this season including Chase Young, the possibility of Belichick’s move doesn’t appear far-fetched. In fact, the assumptions regarding which teams might probably take in the veteran coach have also been made.

Among them, the Los Angeles Charges have come on top of the list of possible home destinations. However, for now, the coach is on the field as the Patriots clash against the Giants. Currently, things do not seem to be going in favor of the coach on the field and only time will tell if the separation of Bill Belichick from the Patriots is on the cards or not.

Belichick’s honesty and blunt attitude are not liked by a lot of people in the NFL world. While it was fine till the Patriots won the games, maybe even till the Patriots had exceptional Quarterbacks like Tom Brady to execute Belichick’s plays. However, the 2-8 record has surely brought scrutiny on this side of the coach and the needle of blame keeps pointing back to the veteran member of the NFL community.

The rumors have been becoming more noticeable with each passing day and there is a contention that the Patriots fans do not want anything to do with the team’s HC anymore. Some think that his ‘old-school’ attitude is best suited for the past and isn’t applicable to the modern NFL.
