You might be wondering why Marvin Harrison Jr’s jerseys aren’t available anywhere. Well, it all started with a lawsuit that was filed on May 18th by Fanatics. Reason? Harrison was not able to fulfil his agreement with the $25 billion valuation company in regards to memorabilia over the new three seasons.

Offering some context between the contract, Fanatics struck a deal with the Cardinals WR worth $1 million for autographs and clothing apparel. But him not being able to live up to that deal led to this current scenario. However, Fanatics has since refiled the lawsuit to include his father, Marvin Harrison Sr, citing he, “aided and abetted Harrison Jr.’s fraud on Fanatics.”

But how did it come up to this point? Well, Fanatics claims that Harrison Jr. and Sr. “deliberately misled Fanatics into believing there was a binding contract between Harrison Jr., his company and Fanatics, and that Harrison Jr. had signed that contract.” And here comes the twist as Fanatics further claimed that it was Harrison Sr. who signed those contracts while the company believes the “two men’s signatures bear a striking resemblance.”

Since Fanatics filed that lawsuit, two affidavits were submitted by the Cardinals WR and his father in July. In those affidavits, Harrison Jr added, “he never intended to be personally bound by the Binding Term Sheet, and I am not personally bound by it.” Amid those allegations, Fanatics also offered proof of the similarity between father and son’s signature from the company’s website. The charge sheet that had an initial count of four was increased to six, citing this new development.

Will Harrison and his father manage to get themselves out of this trouble while the rookie WR starts his new chapter in the NFL?

Marvin Harrison Jr finding his feet in the NFL amid legal troubles

Having been selected this year’s first wide receiver, Marvin Harrison Jr. joined the Cardinals as their fourth-overall pick. His consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season for Ohio State may have prompted the Cardinals to select their man. Playing his first game in the NFL, Harrison didn’t have the greatest of starts, considering the expectations on his shoulders.

In a 34-28 defeat against the Bills, Harrison recorded just a solitary catch while running for four yards. But the next week, the Cardinals WR showed glimpses of his talents as he raced away to score two TDs, alongside four receptions for 130 yards in the first quarter itself. This eventually led to the Cardinals winning their first game of the season against the Rams by a staggering 31-point margin at 41-10.

Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. Fanatics—Is this lawsuit a career-defining moment for the young star?

Have an interesting take?

Well, after three games into the season, Harrison has racked up 10 receptions for 198 yards while adding three touchdowns to those numbers. However, going into the fourth week to face off against the Commanders, the rookie WR may be absent, citing quad injury troubles.

Although it is not yet clear whether he will be available or not, the Cardinals would be hoping he stays fit as they search for their second win of the season.
