Touchdown celebrations are customary. But impersonating Michael Jackson is not. And Derek Carr did that during the Saints’ 44-19 swoop over the Cowboys. However, the NFL saw Carr’s celebration as ‘not so saintly’.

Per multiple reports, Derek Carr would be handed a $14,000 for performing a Michael Jackson-inspired touchdown celebration. Why? Well, more so it’s because of the ‘iconic’ crotch grab. But that’s the signature move, right? Now, he would be signing a check for the amount.

It’s funny how things change, right? Back in 1993, the NFL was all about letting the King of Pop steal the halftime show. But now, if you channel MJ in the end zone, they’ll hit you with a fine. And no, you can’t even claim it’s an homage to the legend himself—rules are rules, my friend.

But hey, Derek Carr had fun with it, and so did his teammates! The NFL, though? They found a way to cash in. Carr’s contract restructure means his Week 2 paycheck took a hit for that little dance—about a fifth of it, to be exact. An expensive celebration, sure. But if Carr keeps dropping heaters on gridiron for the Saints, who’s really complaining?

Derek Carr is on business!

The Saints’ offense has been on fire, racking up 91 points and over 800 yards in just the first two weeks. Carr’s been balling out too, scoring 20-plus fantasy points in each game. And with a matchup against the Eagles’ shaky secondary coming up, you gotta wonder—how many more yards can Carr stack up?

Now, lighting up a struggling Panthers’ defense is one thing, but Carr straight-up carved up the Cowboys’ defense too, which is no easy feat. He’s been playing like an elite QB since late 2023, leading all quarterbacks with 17 passing touchdowns since Week 15. No other QB has hit 15 in that stretch. That’s some serious stat padding!

Read this if you are into Fantasy Football. We know Carr’s career numbers don’t exactly scream “top-tier QB,” but with a lot of QB1s sidelined, he’s looking like a solid streaming option for fantasy managers. You’d be crazy not to consider him against a vulnerable Eagles secondary that’s allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game so far.

So, what do you think? Is Carr going to keep this hot streak going, or will the Eagles’ defense finally slow him down? Let us know!
