Shocking news for the NFL community! Pearsall was shot at Union Square on Saturday, August 31. But why? According to NBC reporter Gia Vang, on her official X account, BREAKING: 49ers Ricky Pearsall has been shot in Union Square in an attempted robbery.

She further added about Pearsall’s condition, saying, “According to Sup. Peskin’s office, the suspect is in custody and Ricky is in stable condition. San Francisco Mayor, London Breed, later confirmed the shooting, announcing that the suspect is now in custody. She said, “SFPD was on scene immediately and an arrest of the shooter was made. My thoughts are with Ricky and his family at this time. We will provide more updates, including on his condition, as I receive them.

How is Ricky Pearsall now?

This definitely isn’t a good start for the WR. Ricky Pearsall recently suffered hamstring and shoulder injuries during the training camp. The same shoulder trouble haunted him in college too, yet he rarely missed a game. And this time too, he returned healthy after the preseason for practice, gearing up for his NFL debut on September 9. But as this shooting incident has now shockingly happened, he might take up some more time to come back to the gridiron. But as per recent updates by Deebo Samuel, who was putting in his overtime with rookie this offseason, Pearsall is “good. Thank god!!!!”

According to journalist Sal Castaneda, after the incident happened, the police officers “located two male subjects suffering from injuries. Officers rendered aid and medics and transported both subjects to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.” By that time, the police officers didn’t know that one victim was Ricky Pearsall. But it was when they did a preliminary investigation that the officers then learned one of the subjects wounded in this shooting incident was the 49ers player.

In another viral video that’s just surfaced, Pearsall was seen slowly walking to the stretcher placed in front of the ambulance, holding a towel to the wounded area. Hopefully, this is an indication that this freak incident isn’t too much of a setback for the rookie’s career. The prayers continue.
