Since 2020, there have been only quarterbacks on the cover of the NFL video game, with the exception of 2023, when former coach John Madden’s demise was honored. This calls for a change in tone, and the highest-paid wide receiver might be the perfect choice for the spot.
Jefferson recently signed a monumental contract with the Minnesota Vikings, which makes him the top-paid non-quarterback player in the league. Even before the signing, the WR’s popularity had been on the rise, and a debut on the Madden would be the perfect cherry on the top this offseason.

Jefferson has 5,899 receiving yards, 30 receiving touchdowns, and 98.3 yards/game in his four-year-long career. After entering the league as a rookie, the three-time Pro Bowl amassed the most receiving yards in the first four seasons in NFL’s history. Even though Justin Jefferson is emerging as a fan-favorite for the Madden cover, there is another player who has the Swifties’ support behind him!
Travis Kelce is a favorite too!
The Chiefs‘ tight end has been ruling headlines since the end of last year. After Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift came to light, he has been under the constant eye of fans and paparazzi alike. The couple’s adorable moments at the Super Bowl were the talk of the town, and the Kansas City star is even a part of the singer’s lyrics now.

On top of that, his podcast with older brother Jason is a hit, and his camaraderie with Patrick Mahomes is always a happy sight for the Chiefs Kingdom. Coming to the on-field aspect, he is a three-time Super Bowl champion, a nine-time Pro Bowl, and a four-time All-Pro achiever. The tight end has a whopping 907 receptions, 76 touchdowns, and 12.5 yards per reception in his 11 years in Kansas City.
Speculations and predictions are in the air! Ultimately, we’ll know who made it to the cover of the Madden ’25 on Tuesday when it officially drops. As for now, who do you think would be perfect for this cover, Travis Kelce or Justin Jefferson?
