For the Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown, it’s a disappointing season again. During his stint with the Ravens (2018-2020) and the Chiefs (2021-2022), he played in the postseason and even won the Super Bowl in 2022. Last season, the Bengals failed to qualify for the playoffs. Orlando Brown nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award

Not only for his achievements in the field, but his strive to work for the community has made him a hero. Years ago, in 2011, his father died because of Type 1 diabetes. Later, he saw his grandmother and younger brother also suffer from the same complications. It inspired him to work for people who have a similar condition.

Recognizing his commitment, the Bengals nominated him for the ‘Walter Payton Man of the Year Award’ in 2024. He has worked with many charities, including Breakthrough T1D. He also went to Washington DC where he met with the officials to tell them about the needs of people who get diagnosed with it.

“I’m so thankful for the opportunity to represent the Bengals organization as its Walter Payton Man of the Year, with all the work that I’ve done with Type 1 Diabetes, Breakthrough T1D, and so much that we’ve done as well in the Black community here in Cincinnati. I’m very thankful,” Orlando Brown said after receiving the news. He would also receive $55k for being a nominee, increasing to $265,000 in donations, if he wins.
