For the Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown, it’s a disappointing season again. During his stint with the Ravens (2018-2020) and the Chiefs (2021-2022), he played in the postseason and even won the Super Bowl in 2022. Last season, the Bengals failed to qualify for the playoffs. Things are looking the same this year too. It’s more like a recap of the last season.
While the team was preparing for their week 14 game against the Cowboys, they received a shock. Their injury report just came out, listing that the OT will not play the game because of the knee/fibula injury. Fans sensed something was wrong since he hadn’t practiced all week. But there is good news too. The WR Ja’Marr Chase is fit to play against the Cowboys. Let’s check the history of OT’s injury for now.

Brown suffered the injury during the week 7 game against the divisional rivals Browns. He started in the week 8 matchup against the Eagles but left the game early. Things aren’t good since then as he missed the next 3 games. Though he played against the Steelers in the week 13 game, he has been listed ‘out’ and that’s a big worry for the team.
The Bengals are already struggling with a 4-8 win-loss record. Even if they win all their remaining 5 games, the road to the playoffs seems tough, if not closed for them as even the Broncos, who are in 7th position in the AFC conference, already have double (8) their wins. However, the hope is still there.
Regarding this season, there is no update about how serious the injury is. While we wait for it, we got a heartwarming update for you. It’s sweet.
Orlando Brown nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award
Not only for his achievements in the field, but his strive to work for the community has made him a hero. Years ago, in 2011, his father died because of Type 1 diabetes. Later, he saw his grandmother and younger brother also suffer from the same complications. It inspired him to work for people who have a similar condition.

Recognizing his commitment, the Bengals nominated him for the ‘Walter Payton Man of the Year Award’ in 2024. He has worked with many charities, including Breakthrough T1D. He also went to Washington DC where he met with the officials to tell them about the needs of people who get diagnosed with it.

“I’m so thankful for the opportunity to represent the Bengals organization as its Walter Payton Man of the Year, with all the work that I’ve done with Type 1 Diabetes, Breakthrough T1D, and so much that we’ve done as well in the Black community here in Cincinnati. I’m very thankful,” Orlando Brown said after receiving the news. He would also receive $55k for being a nominee, increasing to $265,000 in donations, if he wins.
For now, the fans are concerned about his health. They are hoping it doesn’t become too serious. Stay tuned for the updates about your favorite athletes across the league.
