Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been very vocal online ever since the Super Bowl LVIII concluded. Having a past connection with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hill has been proud of their win and hopes that it motivates the Dolphins to better their performance, as expressed on X. However, this time, his opinion seems to have shed light on the Chiefs’ defensive coach and the absence of limelight on him.
Steve Spagnuolo, belovedly called Spags, has been the defensive coordinator for the Chiefs for five straight seasons and has established quite a foothold in the arena, as evident by the team’s stellar performance in the league. So, when speculations of him being snubbed for the head coach position came to light, Hill naturally had some thoughts of his own.

With four Super Bowls under his belt, Steve Spagnuolo has cemented his name as one of the best defensive coordinators in the NFL. The chant close to the Chiefs, “In Spags we trust,” rang true as the Chiefs displayed a stellar performance and lifted the Super Bowl victory for the second consecutive time. With the Kansas City offense nothing spectacular, it was the defense led by their experienced DC that ensured their win.
Why don’t Spags got no interviews

With such impressive accolades to his name, it is indeed surprising that Spagnuolo hasn’t been offered any head coach position by any team this offseason. ‘Cheetah’ Hill has played under the DC’s guidance during his time with the Chiefs and wasn’t shy of calling out the lack of offers for the Kansas City DC. He bluntly put forth his question on X (formerly Twitter), “Why don’t Spags got no interviews.”
Chiefs defensive tackle, Chris Jones also expressed his surprise at the lack of interview for Spags. “Yeah, it was very surprising. I think he still is not getting the respect he deserves around this league for the success he’s had. You look at his resume. He’s the only defensive coordinator to win Super Bowls with two different teams, ” he told Fox News.
Spagnuolo would love to be a Head Coach once again
During the opening night of the Super Bowl LVIII, Steve Spagnuolo confessed that he would like the chance to traverse the Head Coach arena once again. But, he maintained that he is satisfied as the DC and taking his team to the Super Bowl again, echoing his words from last year.

Spags’ previous three-season run as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams wasn’t very fruitful, with an embarrassing record of 10-38. In 2018, Spagnuolo moved to the New York Giants as an interim head coach before taking a year-long break from the league. He finally joined the Chiefs in 2019, reuniting with HC Andy Reid, having worked with him in the Philadelphia Eagles.
