US hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar captivated the crowd at Super Bowl LIX for the second time. American rapper who is known for his technical artistry was also accompanied by Nick Fury: Samuel L. Jackson. Academy Honorary Award-winning actor Jackson also left everyone in awe with his surprise performance during Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, which was electrifying.

Amazingly, ‘The Protégé,’ star opened the big game in an Uncle Sam costume. He looked adorable in his red white and blue outfit. “Salutations! It’s your uncle, Sam, and this is the great American game!” Jackson stated.

However, the relationship between one of the greatest rappers of all time, Lamar, and the highest-grossing actor of all time, Samuel L. Jackson isn’t new at all. Both of them share good past connections.

In 2016, Jackson garnered widespread attention with his Instagram post featuring Kendrick. Through their vibrant collaboration, the dynamic duo brought social media to a halt. “In the studio today getting Woke with the Blackness Alarm Clock @kendricklamar!!,” the “Pulp Fiction” actor mentioned in his post caption while giving a pose with K-Dot.

And, once again their collaboration left many stunned at the Super Bowl LIX stage at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

After Jackson’s heartfelt introduction, Lamar performed his song ‘Squabble Up!’ during the half-time show. Later, he entertained the gathering with his songs, ‘Humble‘, ‘DNA,‘ and more.

Besides this, he also enthralled the fans with his electrifying performance on his iconic diss track ‘Not Like Us‘ along with DJ Mustard. However, the ‘I’m Your Puppet,’ star’s surprise performance during Lamar’s halftime show stole all the limelight.

Jackson’s performance wins hearts during Super Bowl

Jackson’s surprise appearance added extra humor and patriotism to the show. It indeed went beyond the excitement for the Eagles vs Chiefs game. Undoubtedly, the 76-year-old actor combined pop culture with devotion as fans applauded his presence.

The actor’s approach garnered a lot of attention on social media. Viewers also made comparisons between him and previous halftime legends. His sudden entrance became a source of a great deal of discussion.

Following Jackson’s introduction, Lamar did what he does best: he expelled out a skillful, quick-fire series of lyrics from his most recent song, “Bodies.” And, speculation on Lamar’s set list was rampant before his breathtaking performance at Super Bowl 2025.

Lamar has an extensive collection of tracks from his six albums. “It’s very hard for me to live in the past,” American rapper iterated during last week’s Super Bowl Half-time Show press conference. He remarked, “I’m still on the journey.” He wants his contagious energy to spread to everyone, on the TV and the people who are in the building.
